4 Signal Stre ngth Indicat ion A cellul ar phone s ends and rec eives rad io signa ls. As with all ra d io e quipment , the qualit y of radio re ception depend s on the str ength of the rad io signal in the area where yo u are operating your phone.
5 3. Battery Informat ion Your phone is powered by a rechargeable battery. Use only batter ies ap proved by th e phone manufacture r and recha rge your batte ry only wit h the char gers appr oved by the manufac turer. Se e “Important Batter y Info rmatio n” on page 10.
6 Charging the Battery Plug t he char ger in to a wall out let an d co nne ct th e ch arger to the bottom of your phone. When c harging starts , t he batte ry segmen ts scr oll and th e phon e beeps once . Y ou can use the phone during charg- ing, but charging will be reduce d for the duration of the call.

8 Talk and Stan dby Times Battery operation times depend greatly on how you use the batteries, as well a s on the coverage of the network and network parameters set by the cellular service provider. 9 Battery Lo w Warning You get this message a nd a warning tone when the b attery cha rge is low and on ly a f ew minutes of tal k time remain. The repetiti on rate of the batte ry-low warni ng s de pen ds o n the remaining battery capacity and the battery condition.
10 Dur ing this 30 min utes , the ph one is in ‘Dee p Dischar ge’ mode. T he way to ‘wak e up’ the pho ne is to connect it to a charger . 3 Full y cha rge the batt ery af ter Deep Disch arge . The phone may remind you to discharge the battery, by presenting a series of battery-advice messages.

20 Making PIN Calls 1 Make the cal l as usual (refer to “M aking a Call” on page 13). The phone displays PIN CAL L . 2 After you hear a tone, pr ess SEND again. The phone displays SEND ING PIN ... . If the message remains on the display , press SEND aga in to rese nd the PIN code.
