10 Alter nate Attachment Method The standard duct connector is designed f or use on ducts 12” in width. Howe v er if there is insuffi cient clearance to bend the duct connector tabs, this alternate attachment method may be used. 1. Score and cut the top of the supply air duct as indicated in Option 1 or Option 2 (Figure 11).

18 5. Open the furnace door and connect the oil line to the intake port on the pump. Tighten other por t plugs on the pump . NOTE: V erify the oil line is air tight! Air leaks can cause the pump to lose prime and will create other problems such as nozzle f ailure, odors , rumbling noise, and f alse saf ety shutdown.

21 Operating Instructions for Direct Ignition Models M1M Direct ignition fur naces do not ha ve a pilot. Ignition is accomplished by a silicon carbide hot surf ace ignitor . A control module takes care of all timing functions. After lighting, the control module uses the ignitor as a fl ame sensor , shutting off gas should the fl ame go out.
22 How to Shut Off Gas - Direct Ignition 1. Set the ther mostat to the lo west setting. 2. T ur n off all electric power to the appliance bef ore ser vicing unit. 3. 24 Oil Gun Furnace with Honeywell R7184 / Beckett 7505 Contr ol - M5S Models 1. When a call f or heat is initiated, there is a 2 to 6 second dela y while the control perf or ms a saf e star t check. 2. The ignition and motor are tur ned on and a fl ame should establish within a 15-second lock out time.
