6 F eatur es Memory Preser v ation This unit does not require memory preservation batteries. A built-in memory power backup system preserves the contents of memory during power failures and even when the power cord is unplugged. The power cord must be plugged in order to charge the backups system.

9 Playback side Cleaning Discs • Fingerprints and dust on the disc cause picture and sound deterioration. Wipe the disc from the center outwards with a soft cloth. Always keep the disc clean. • If you cannot wipe off the dust with a soft cloth, wipe the disc lightly with a slightly moistened soft cloth and finish with a dry cloth.

21 21 ANTENNA ANTENNA Connecting an FM Outdoor Antenna If the FM reception is not very clear with the supplied antenna, connect an FM outdoor antenna instead of the indoor FM antenna. Notes • Install the antenna well away from tall buildings and in an area where FM stations can directly be received.
22 22 Pr eparing the Remote Contr oller Inser ting the Batteries 1 Detach the battery cover b y pressing the tab and pulling up the cover . 2 Insert the two size AAA/R03 batteries. Be sure to match the + and – ends of the batteries with the diagram inside the battery compartment.
