6 # First, ensure that the VCR is in Standby mode . Plug in receiver and s witch on A uto setup will begin, your stations will be located and stored. If a compatible VCR is connected to the A V2 sock et, programme data will be downloaded to the VCR via Q-Link.
7 B ASIC CONTROLS: FRONT P ANEL AND REMO TE CONTR OL Increase or decreases the programme position b y one. When a function is already displa yed, press to increase or decrease the selected function.
8 USING THE ON SCREEN DISPLA YS This receiver has a comprehensive system of On Screen Displa y menus to access adjustments and options Menu Title Selection bar Instructions Indicator for options Some selections, f or example, Contrast , Brightness , Colour and Sharpness will allow y ou to increase or decrease their lev el.
9 Press the ASPECT button to mo ve through the six aspect options: P anasonic Auto, 4:3, Zoom, S-Zoom, 16:9 and Just ASPECT CONTROLS The receiver will allow y ou to enjoy vie wing the picture at its maxim um siz e, including widescreen ‘cinema format’ pictures.
10 ASPECT CONTROLS The on screen selector ke ys that appear f or some aspect functions will clear after a f ew seconds. If you subsequently wish to select an operation then press the Aspect ke y once more for the k eys to reappear . The widescreeen aspect ratios of diff erent films and programmes can v ar y .

12 PICTURE MENU Open the Picture menu Move to y our choice Increase or decrease levels or set options Press the TV/A V button to exit the Picture menu Contrast Brightness Colour Sharpness Tint The Contrast, Brightness, Colour and Shar pness lev els can be adjusted to suit your o wn pref erences.
13 The V olume adjustment sets the ov erall output volume. Note: At the time of shipment from the f actor y , the volume is set to the maxim um level. The Wide Plasma Display also has a v olume setting control, so the maximum v olume is deter mined by the v olume control settings at both the receiv er and the Wide Plasma Display .

16 The Programme edit men u allows y ou to edit the programme position settings. T o delete an unwanted programme position Open the Setup menu Move to T uning menu Access T uning menu Move to Pr ogram.
17 T o mo ve a programme to another position Choose the programme position where the new pr ogramme is to be inser ted. Press the Green button Press the Green button again to confirm. This blank programme can then be tuned, named or locked. Press STR to store If you ha ve finished in the Programme edit menu, press the TV/A V b utton to exit.
18 T o tune a programme position T o rename a programme position Choose the programme position. Move the channel column Increase or decrease channel number or use the ‘C’ key f or Direct Channel Access (see page 7). Press STR to store. If you ha ve finished in the Pr ogramme edit menu, press the TV/A V button to exit.
19 T o lock a pr ogramme position to prevent access Choose the programme position. Move to the loc k column. Choose between lock On or loc k Off Press STR to store.
20 The A uto setup menu will allow y ou to automatically retune the receiver to y our local stations. It is useful if y ou move to a different region. Open the Setup menu Move to T uning menu Access T.

23 A V SELECT AND SETUP Setup men u The A V Select menu will allo w you to c hoose which A V source to view . Sound men u Press the TV/A V button Press the appropriate coloured remote control b utton (whilst the options remain on screen). The options will disappear .
24 The VCR must be connected with a SCART lead (full function type) attached between the A V2 socket of the receiv er and the appropriate socket on y our VCR.
25 The Remote Control is capable of operating some functions of selected P anasonic VCRs and D VD (Digital V ersatile Disc) equipment. Some VCR and D VD equipment hav e different functions, so to ensure compatibility please ref er to the equipment’s instruction book or consult your dealer f or details.
