BEFORE YOU BEGIN 1 About Caller Identification (Caller ID) This product has a Caller ID with Call W aiting feature that wor ks with ser vice from your local phone service provider . Caller ID with Call W aiting lets you see who’ s calling before y ou answ er the phone, even when you’ re on another call.
Before Y ou Install 1 Choose a location for the base near an electrical outlet and a telephone jack. This phone requires a modular telephone jac k and a standard electrical outlet (110v AC) not contr olled b y a wall s witch. 2 Install the handset battery.

INST ALLA TION 4 3 Charge the handset battery. Place the handset in the base. Charge the battery for at least 12 hours the first time. 4 Check for dial tone. After the batteries are charg ed, pick up the handset and press P ; you should hear a dial tone.

10 TELEPHONE MEMOR Y This cordless phone can store 10 telephone numbers with names, each up to 16 digits long in memor y locations you assign (0-9). Note: Pr ess O at any time to exit memory dial mode. This cordless phone can store an additional 40 telephone numbers with names alphabetically in the directory .

TELEPHONE DIRECTOR Y 13 This cordless phone can store 40 telephone numbers with names, each up to 16 digits long. Entries are stored alphabetically . For consistency with Caller ID entries, you may wish to enter last names first. Note: Pr ess O at any time to exit dir ectory .

Delete a Number/Name Stored in the Director y 1 Press > (DIR). The screen displays DIRECTORY . 2 Press < or > to scroll alphabetically through entries stored in memor y —OR— Press the dial pad key for the first letter of the entr y you want to delete.
16 CALLER ID OPERA TION About Call Histor y This phone assigns each incoming call a number from 1 to 99. The most recent call will have the highest number . When the memor y is full, the oldest call information is deleted to make room f or new incoming call information.
17 CALLER ID OPERA TION Delete Records from Call Histor y Delete a Specific Call 1 Locate the record y ou want to delete from call histor y . 2 Press S , then press < or > until ERASE f lashes. 3 Press S . The screen displays ERASE NO YES ALL and the phone number .
18 CALLER ID OPERA TION Store a Call Histor y Record in the Directory 1 Locate the record in call history you want to store in memor y . 2 If you wish to c hange how the number is stored, press # . 26 Charge the Handset Batter y Pack • This batter y should remain charged up to six da ys with the ringer turned on and up to 10 days with the ringer off. A fully c harged batter y provides an aver a ge talk time of about 10 hours. • The batter y pack needs charging when: — A new batter y is installed in the handset.
27 Replacing the Handset Batter y Pack 1 Remove the battery compartment cover on the handset b y pressing on the indentation and sliding the cov er downward. 2 Lift out the old battery pack and disconnect. 3 Align the two holes in the new battery pack’s plug with the socket pins, and snap the plug into place.

29 IN CASE OF DIFFICUL TY If you hear noise or interference when using the phone: • Make sure the base antenna is fully upright. • Y ou may be out of rang e. Move closer to the base. • Press and release G to c hange to another of the 30 c hannels available.
If messages are incomplete: • If a caller leaves a v er y long messa ge, par t of it may be lost when the system disconnects the call after three minutes. • If the caller pauses for mor e than seven seconds, the system stops recording and disconnects the call.
If callers cannot leave messages in Mailbox 2 or 3. • Re-record y our announcement, making sure to leave a f ew seconds blank at the end to allow callers enough time to select a mailbox. (See “Record Y our Announcement” in ANSWERING SYSTEM OPERA TION A T THE BASE).
