Use t wo CR -V3 or four AA N i-MH batterie s, AA li thium batteries , or AA alkali ne batte ries. 1 Push and hold the battery cover unlock lever as shown in the il lustr atio n ( 1 ), and slide the battery cover to ward the lens ( 2 ), and then flip open.

28 2 Getting Started We rec ommend us ing the AC ada pter D -AC76 (opti onal) when usi ng the LCD monito r for a l ong time o r when conne cting to y our PC. 1 Make sure the camera is turned off befor e opening the terminal cover. 2 Connect the DC terminal on the AC adapter to the DC input term ina l on th e cam era .

Move the main s witch to [OFF] position to turn off the camera. • Always turn the camera o ff when not in use. • The power will auto matically turn off wh en you do not perform any o perations within a set pe riod of time.

3 Basic Operations This chapter explai ns basic operati ons for shooting by setting mode dial to Pic ture mode (Auto Picture or Portrait mode - Flash OFF mode) and Scene mode to ensure successful capturin g.
