14 14 Answering System Operation Messag e capacity The answ ering system can record up to 99 messages, depending on the length of each message. Individual messages can be up to four minutes long, and the maximum r ecording time is 15 minutes. Messages will remain a vailable for r eplay until the y are deleted.

41 Appendix T r oubleshooting I get noise, static, or weak signal even when I’m near the base. • Other cordless phones and 802.11 wir eless routers that ar e used for home computer networks both use internal radios to communicate. The radios may interfere with one another .
42 Appendix T r oubleshooting My cordless handset does not ring when I receive a call. • Make sure that the ringer is not turned off. Refer to the section(s) on ringer selection in this user’ s manual. • Make sure the telephone line cord is plugged secur ely into the base unit and the telephone jack.
43 Appendix T r oubleshooting • If your phone is plugged in with a modem or surge protector , plug the phone (or modem/surge protector) into a dif ferent location. If this solves the problem, r e-locate your phone or modem farther apart from one another , or use a differ ent surge protector .
