Getting st arted T elephone base & char ger installation If you subscribe to high-speed Internet servic e (Digital Subscriber Line - DSL) through your t elephone lines, you must install a DSL fil ter between the telephone base and the tel ephone wall jack.
Getting st arted Bat t ery inst allation & char ging Install the battery as shown below . After installing the battery , you can make and r eceive short calls, but r eplace the handset in the telephone base or additional char ger when not in use. F or optimal performance, charge the handset batt ery for at least 16 hours before use.

4. Plug the telephone line cor d into the telephone base and telephone wall jack, then plug the power adapter plug into the t elephone base and an electrical wall outlet not contr olled by a wall switch (see page 5) and place the cords in the br acket channels.

Options while on calls Mute The mute function allows you to silence the microphone. You can hear the caller, but the caller will not be able to hear you. To mute the call: • Press MUTE/ REMOVE to silence the microphone. When mute is on, the handset screen will show MUTED for a few seconds and the MUTE icon will be shown until mute is turned off.
