The daisy-chain cable supplies power to adjacent instruments and allows data to be transmitted and received via the SeaTalk bus.

The most important speed calibration feature is Log Calibration; this calibrates the transducer paddlewheel to the vessel's hull so that accurate speed/log related information is displayed.
