V arious Brands o f Rechargeable Batteries - Use of the Base Station charging feature with other brands of rechargeable batteries is not recommended, as battery charging times will vary with differ- ent brands of batteries. Refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for charging other brands of batteries.
128-6476 10 of 28 10 The following guidelines will improve performance and provide longer operating times for the GMRS-3000PK handset transceiver: 1. Do not mix old and new batteries. 2. The use of alkaline-type batteries is recommended to provide the longest operating time.
128-6476 11 of 28 11 Base St ation T ransceiver Charging Setup For the Handset T ransceiver When the handset transceiver is equipped with rechargeable NiMH batter- ies (supplied), they may be charged using the base station setup as fol- lows: 1. Position the handset transceiver in the base station cradle as shown.
128-6476 12 of 28 Controls: Power On/Off Button Press and hold the power on/off button ( ) for at least 2 seconds. Y ou will hear a confirming melody to indicate the unit is on.

When in function edit mode this button will be used to adjust the unit’s settings. Down Channel/V olume Button In the standby mode, pressing this button will decrement the listening volume.
