3 A. Introduction Thank you for selecting the VBP58 portable DVD player in a bag. The main features include a 5.8" Screen (16:9 Aspect Ratio) Liquid Crys- tal Display (LCD) monitor and a DVD player . The unit applies the latest state of the art electronics and is designed for use in hotels, offices or your home.
4 5. Cleaning Unit When cleaning, make sure the system is unplugged from the power source. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Use a cloth lightly dampened with water for cleaning the exterior of the system only . 6. Disc Do not use irregularly shaped discs such as heart or star-shaped discs as they may cause the unit to malfunction.
5 2. Powering the system in a car Plug one end of the cigarette lighter adapter into the DC 9V jack on the unit, then plug the other end into the cigarette lighter socket. Figure 1 3. Powering the system with optional rechargeable Battery Please refer to L.
6 Seat S tandof f 1.Installing the System onto the seat back in a car (Refer to Figure 2) Figure 2 1). T ake one of the supplied strap s from the carrier bag. Con- nect the latch to one of the upper metal rings on the mounti ng bag. Connect the “S” hook to the other upper metal ring and place the loop over the headrest.
7 2. Installing the system between the driver/passenger seat (Refer to Figure 3) Figure 3. 1). T ake one strap and connect the latch to the upper metal ring on the left side of the bag. Attach the “S” hook to the same ring after looping the strap around the headrest of the driver’s seat.

10 f. T o turn off the DVD player , slide POWER ON/OFF to OFF . The DVD player ’s POWER indicator turns of f. g. T o remove the disc, open the disc tray , then you will see a picture on the right in.
11 G . SETUP Press ‘SETUP’ to display the Main screen of the SETUP Menu on the screen. Press ‘SETUP’ again to exit the SETUP Menu and the unit will resume it’s last playback or stop mode. 1) Select ‘GENERAL SETUP’ using the UP/DOWN buttons, then press ‘ENTER’ to enter the GENERAL Setup screen.
12 * WIDE: When the player is connected to a wide screen TV , a wide picture is shown on the full screen. b.Select ‘ANGLE MARK’ using UP/DOWN, and then press the RIGHT button to enter the submenu. Choose Angle Mark on or off displayed on the screen using the UP/DOWN and then press ENTER to confirm the setting.
13 2) When there is no disc inside the player select ‘PREFERENCES’ using UP/DOWN, then press ‘ENTER’ to enter the preferences page. Figure 10. AUDIO Preference Screen Display a. Select ‘AUDIO’ using UP/DOWN, then press ‘RIGHT’ to enter the submenu.

16 NOTE: The Default Password is 3308 . This password is al- ways effective even after you have selected your own password and changed it. T o avoid the possibility of others using the de- fault password to set the parental level and change the pass- word, you can record this default password in another area and delete it from this manual.

2. MENU A DVD is divided into sections called titles and chapters. When you play a DVD, a root menu of the disc will appear on the screen of your TV or Monitor . The contents of the menu vary from disc to disc. Press MENU during playing to display the menu, and press ENTER or PLA Y to start playing.
19 c. Press ‘DISPLA Y’ the 3rd time to display the Elapsed T ime for the chapter . The heading will disappear automatically in about 3 seconds. Figure 21. Chapter Elapsed Time Screen Display d. Press ‘DISPLA Y’ the 4th time to display the Remaining T ime for the chapter .

Angle Screen Display 3) SUBTITLE During disc playback press ‘SUBTITLE’ to select the subtitle lan- guage you desire*, with the current Subtitle Language Number (1) and the total Number of Subtitle Languages (2) displayed. If there are multiple languages press ‘SUBTITLE’ again to select another subtitle language.
21 4) AUDIO During playback press ‘AUDIO’ to select the audio language you desire*, with the current Audio Channel Number (1) and the total number of Audio Channels (2) displayed. Press AUDIO again to select another audio language. The audio display will disappear automatically if the ‘AUDIO’ button is not pressed again for 3 seconds.

24 4. PLA YING AUDIO CDS When playing an audio CD. Press the DISPLA Y button on the remote to display the DISPLA Y Banner . The options below show you what happens when you press the DISPLA Y button. a. During playback press ‘DISPLA Y’ once and SINGLE ELAPSED will appear along with the current track playing and the time of that track.
25 d. Press ‘DISPLA Y’ four times and TOT AL REMAIN appears along with the current track playing and the amount of time remaining on the CD. Figure 36. T OT AL REMAIN Screen Display e. Press ‘DISPLA Y’ a fifth times and “ DISPLA Y OFF” will appear momentarily then disappear .
26 1. Insert an MP3 CD, the DVD video player will initialize the disc and the directory (folder) will be shown on the TV screen. Figure 37. MENU Screen Display When an MP3 disc is inserted into the unit, the menu screen appears automatically . Y ou can use the menu screen to change folders and songs.
27 DISPLA YING THE TIME ELAPSED AND TIME REMAINING Press the ‘DISPLA Y’ button on the remote to display disc information. The options below show you what happens when you press the ‘DISPLA Y’ button. a) Press ‘DISPLA Y’ once, and “SINGLE ELAPSED” will appear along with the amount of time the song has been playing.
28 NOTICE The upper left column is a list showing the name of folder . The upper right column is a list showing the name of song and the sub-folder . “ “ sign in front of a file name indicates that this is a folder , not an MP3 file. “MP3” sign in front of a file name indicates that this is a MP3 file.
29 I. Connecting to a TV or another monitor ( Refer to Figure 40) You can also connect the DVD player to a TV to enjoy high quality stereo sound or another monitor.

31 Using and Maintaining your Rechargeable Batteries 1.Please make sure you always use only the AC transformer included with the player to recharge your batteries. 2.Recharge effectiveness will degrade when environmental tempera- tures drop below 50 o F (10 o C) or exceed 95 o F (35 o C).
32 Removing the Battery Pack: 1. First, make sure the player is in “S top” mode and that the AC power supply has been disconnected. 2. Press the release button in the down direction.
