6 Section 1 Activating Y our Phone When you subscribe to a cellular network, you are provide d with a plug-in SIM card loaded with your subscription details, su ch as your PIN, any optional services available, and many others.

Make sure the gold contacts of th e card face into the phone. Note: When you need to remove the SIM ca rd, slide it, as sho wn, and tak e it out of the socket.

Note: When you activate the Auto redial option in the Extra settings menu, the phone will automat ically redia l up to 10 times when the person does not answer the call or is already on the phone.

The following options ar e available: • Call voice mail : before using the V oice Mail feature, you must enter the voice server number obtained from your service provider .

Keypad T one This menu allows you t o select the sound that the phone will make when you press a key .

Section 8 92 • Animations : you can select a backgroun d animation to be displayed on the idle screen. • Get More Wallpapers : you can also select any images downloaded from the Internet, t-zones SM browser , optional EasyGPRS program, or received in messages.
Section 8: Changing Y our Settings 93 Phone Settings Section 8 Back Light In this menu, yo u can select the length of time the backlight is on and the phone is in Dimming mode. Settings available ar e: 15 seconds, 30 second s, 1 minute, 3 minutes, and 10 minutes.
Section 8 94 Language Y ou can select a display lang uage. The following options ar e available: • T ext language (SIM dependent) : you can set the text langua ge to English, French, or Spanish. • Input mode : you can set t he Input mode language to English, French, or Spani sh.
Section 8: Changing Y our Settings 95 Phone Settings Section 8 Change PIN This feature allows you to change your current PIN, provided that the PIN Check fe ature is enabled. Y ou must enter the current PIN befor e you can specify a new one. Once you have entered a new PIN, you ar e asked to confirm it by entering it again.
Section 8 96 Privacy Using this menu, you c an lock your media contents, s uch as pictur e messages, v oic e messages, v oice memos, images, and sound s. Once you have lo cked the contents, you must enter the phone’s passwor d to access the associated menus.
Section 8: Changing Y our Settings 97 Phone Settings Section 8 • Full length entries or wild card s can be en tered in to the FDN list. • A full length n umber with a specific cont act name can be entered into the FDN list . • Wildcard entries allow a range of numbers to be di aled with a single entry: ex.
Section 8 98 • Auto redial : when this option is ch ecked, the phone makes up to ten attempts to redial a phone number after an unsuccessfu l call. • Active Flip : when this option is ch ecked, you can simply open the phone to answer a call.
Section 8: Changing Y our Settings 99 Phone Settings Section 8 Network Services The Network Services feature allows yo u to set up the network functions supported by your carrier . Some of these services may not be available due to cov erage area or service plans.
