SIMA STP- 3000 12V DC Owner's Manual 1. Introduction Your new Sima STP-3000 inverter is t he m ost advanc ed DC to AC inverter availabl e t oday from the SIMA family. It is designed to give you years of dependable servic es everywhere i n your RV , boat, service vehicle, off ic e, s hop or remote home.
3. Phy sical Layout of the Sima STP-3000 Power flows logical l y from the rear terminals of the Sima S TP-3000 unit forward to the front panel of the AC output receptacle (or optional junction box). All indicat ors, controls, and output connections are convenient ly acc essed from the front panel (See Figure 3a and Fi gure 3b ).
4. Permanent Install ation 4.1 Wher e to Instal l The following environment al requi rem ents are ess ential for inst alling the inverter: a) Dry - Do not allow water to drip or spla sh on the Sim a STP-3000 . b) Cool – Ambient a ir temperatur e should be between 0°C and 40°C (32°F and 105° F).
5. Cable Hook-up CAUTION! Loose conn ectors resu lt in excess ive voltage dr op and may cause overhe ated wires and melted in sulation. CAUTION! Reverse polar ity conne ction (positiv e to negativ e) will blow the fuses in t he Sima STP-3000 and may per manently damage the i nverter .
5.1 Battery Cable s ( if cable installation kit is not in cluded) Safe operation of the Sima ST P-3000 requires prop er wires. Low resistance w iring from the battery to the Sima STP- 30 00 is essential t o deliver h igh input curren ts at low supply volta ges.
