44 Shooting techniques Even if it is difficult to focu s in AF shooting because the subject is not in the center of the frame, you can focus in this situation using Center AF . For example, when you are shooting two hu man subjects, and there is a gap between them, the camera may focus on the background visible in the gap.

49 Advanced still im age sh ooting • Y ou cannot use the flash in this mode. • During shooting i n this mode, t he images are not displayed on the screen. Compose the image before pressing t he shutter button. • The focus and white bala nce are adjusted for the fi rst image, and thes e settings are also us ed for the other images.
50 • Under fluor e scent ligh ts that flicker, the white balance adjustment function may not work correctly even though you select (fluorescent). • When the flash strobes, the ma nual setting is canceled, and the im age is recorded in [Auto] mode (except in (Flash) mode).
