13 Connec tions and Prepa rations Step 1: Inst alling the Projector The pro jector displays pi ctures ou tput fr om a V CR or o ther devices . The pr ojecto r can be used in v arious place s and you can enjo y viewing b eautifu l pictur es easily.

18 Step 2: Connecting the Pro jector When making connect ions, be sure to do the follow ing: • Turn o ff all eq uipment s bef ore ma king any connect ions. • Use the proper cables for each connection. • Insert the cable plugs properly; poor connection at the plugs may cause a malfunction or poor picture quality.

20 To connect to a VCR equipped with t he S video connector or video connector You can connect a DVD player/recorder, h ard disk video recorder, VCR or laser disk player, which is not equipped with c omponent video connectors. See also the instruction manual of each equipment.

22 Step 3: Adju sting the Pictur e Position Project an image on the screen and adjust the picture position. 1 After connecting the AC cord to the projector, plug the AC cord into a wall out let, connect all equipment, and remove the lens cover. The ? / 1 (On/standb y) switch ligh ts in red and the proj ector goes into standby mode.

24 Step 4: Sele cting the Menu Language You ca n selec t one o f 17 l anguage s for displa ying th e menu a nd ot her on-s creen displa ys. The factory default setting is English. To change the current menu language, set the desire d lang uage with the me nu scre en.

29 Projecting Zoom (When the SD or PC signal is input) A nor mal 16 :9 as pect ra tio pict ure is enlarged vertically and ho rizontally in the same ratio to fill the screen. Use th is mode t o view a letterb ox pic ture or a lett erbox pi cture with si de pane ls.
30 Selecting the Picture Viewin g Mode You ca n se lect th e pict ure vie wing mo de th at best suits the ty pe of p rogram or roo m conditions. Press one of the PICTURE MODE buttons (D YNAMIC, STANDARD, CINEMA and USER 1, USER 2 and USER 3). DYNAMIC The pict ure becomes br ight suit able for viewin g the pictu re in a brigh t room.
31 Projecting Adjustin g the Picture Qu ality You can adjust the picture quality that suits your taste b y selecting the adjustment items with the remote control. The adjusted data can be stored in each picture mode. 1 Press ADJ PIC. Each time you press th e butto n, the follow ing adj ustment window s* are displa yed in sequ ence.
32 Using Othe r Functions You can temporarily turn off or pause a projected picture. Press PIC MUTING. Press to tempo rarily turn off a proj ected picture. T o return to the previous sc reen, press PIC MUTING ag ain. Press FREEZE. A project ed pictur e can be pau sed to be displayed .

44 INFORMATION Menu The INFORMATION menu displays the model name, serial number, the horizontal and vertic al freq uencies of the input sig nal an d the cum ulated hours o f usage of the lamp. • f H (horiz ontal fre quency) and fV(ver tical fr equency ) may not be displa yed depen ding on th e input sign al us ed on the pr ojec tor.
