4 Environmental n ote Note : Before d iscarding a n old a ppliance, switch off and disconnect it from the po wer supply. Cut o ff and rende r any plug useless. Cut t he cable off directly b ehind the appl iance t o prevent misuse. Thi s shoul d be underta ken by a compete nt person.
5 Important safet y information Your safety is of the utmost importance to Baumatic. Please make s ure that you read thi s in struction booklet before attempting to install or use the appliance . 6 Child safety o Packaging material s hould be kept away from children. o This appli ance is intended for use by persons with suffici ent e xperience and knowledge of electrical appliances. Any o ther persons (including children) should be s upervised or given instruction concerning use of the applia nce by a person respo nsible for thei r safety.
7 Service You should no t attempt to repair the appliance yourself, as this could c ause injury or a mo re serious malfunction. If you require a service call then please contact the Customer Care Department.
8 IMPORTANT: Whe n you install your appliance i t is impo rtant to bear in mind its climatic rating. In orde r to find out the climatic ra ting of your appliance, you should check the rating plate. The rating plate i s l ocated on the fron t left e dge of the appliance.
9 Control panel The control panel is locate d in the middle of the appliance. Description of the product features Control panel o The control panel is located in the m iddle of the appliance, behind the glass door. This means it is e asy to se t the temperature of t he appliance and se e wh at temperature the appliance is set to.
10 o The deep shelves have te lescopic rails which have stoppers of their own. Using your Bau matic wine cab inet Before switching on o Make sure that it h as been i nstalled b y a suitably quali fied person, as pe r the information c ontained in Baumati c’s installation instructions.
11 During first use IMPORTANT: When you use the wi ne cabinet for the first tim e or restart the appliance after it has been turned off for a l ong time, there could be a few degrees variance between the temperature you select and the one i ndicated on the LED display.
12 The interior light o When the control panel is unlocke d, you can use the light button to switch the interior light on and off. o The light will remain on unless it is turned off manuall y by pressing the light button.
13 Loading the wine cabinet o IMPORTANT: Your appliance is ideally suited to store 0.75 litre Bordeaux style wine bottles. Yo u must make sure t hat they do not prevent the door f rom s hutting properly. o Always check that you can cl ose the door without i t fouli ng on a wine bottle, before shutting it.
14 o Wines kept at a hig her temperature will age faster. W ine that is exposed to temperatures that are gre ater than 21°C (70°F) will suffer from poorer flavour and aroma. o If wine is kept at too low a temperature, this can result in the development of harmful deposits.
15 Wine storage problems Corking- a tiny percentage of bottled wine (about 1%) will suffer fro m this. The cork reacts with the wine and gives it a m usty, unplea sant taste. I t is the most common wine storage problem and i s caused by harmless bacteria gro wing on t he cork.
16 Cleaning and m aintenance WARNING: PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOUR APPLIANCE IS DISCONNECTED FROM YOUR MAINS SUPPL Y BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO CLEAN IT. o Do not clean the a ppliance by pouring water onto it or spraying water over it.
17 o You s hould be careful to make sure that wine bottles do not touch t he rear wall of the applia nce, as thi s can interrupt t he automatic defrosting process and deflect water into the base of your wine cabinet. Moving your wine cabinet If yo u ne ed to move your wine cabinet to another location yo u should follow the steps outlined belo w.
18 Installation IMPORTANT: Be fore installation a nd usage read all the instructions and make sure that the voltage (V) and t he frequency (Hz) indicated on the rating plate are exactly the same as the voltage and frequency in your ho me. The rating plate can be found on the front left edg e of the inside of the wine cabinet.
19 o When the co nnection is completed, no s tray strands or c ut wire should be pre sent. T he cord cla mp must be secured over th e outer sheath. Positioning o It is advisable that yo ur appliance i.
20 Built-in installation o The dimension s shown in the diag ram above w ill ne ed to b e followed. o The ventilation requirements shown in the diagram above must be followed.
21 o To secure the appli ance to the kitchen cabinet, tighten the 2 screws on the mounting bar, which is fix ed to the bottom of the unit, i nto the kitchen cabinet. o You can also install an additional top mounting bar, which is supplied with the appliance, onto the top of the appliance to s ecure it t o the kitchen cabinet.
22 Reversing the door of your wine cabinet This appliance h as the capabili ty of the door opening from e ither the left or right hand side. o The instructions prov ided below are base d on a wine cabinet with a right door hinge installed al ready.
23 3) Rotate the door 18 0˚ (upside down). 4) Screw the 8 screws of the upper le ft hinge a nd bottom left hinge tightly to fix the door in place. IMPORTANT: Check that the do or opens and s huts correctly, without fo uling, after you have completed t he d oor re versal process.
24 o The seal must adhere properly all the way around the door. o If the seal i s not adhering to the cabinet properly, then you should either:- a) Use a wa rm damp cloth and manipul ate the s eal until it does adhere to the cabinet properly, all the way around the door.
25 The door gasket does n ot seal pro perly. The lighting does not w ork. The applianc e is not plugged in. The circuit brea ker tripp ed or a fuse has blown. The light is t urned off. Too much vibra tion. Check to ensur e the ap pliance is leve l. Check to ensur e that no par ts inside of the cabinet or in the co mpressor chamber are loose.
26 IMPORTANT: If y our appliance ap pears no t to be operating correctly, then you should disconnect it from your mains supply and then contact the Customer Ca re Department on telephone number (0118) 933 6911. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPAIR THE APPLIA NCE YOURSELF.
