6 Introduction Choosing a disc When y ou want to play D VD or CD software or cop y programs fr om the HDD to a recor dable D VD, load an appropriate disc into the recor der . There are many types and f ormats of discs. Please use the f ollowing information to select an appr opriate disc.

8 Introduction On D VD-RAM discs Use only D VD-RAM discs that comply with D VD- RAM standard V ersion 2.0, 2.1 or 2.2. The recorder cannot record on a disc formatted in any other standard. When using such a disc, initialize it b y using the disc-f or mat function of this recorder .

98 “ Copy ” and “ Mo ve ” This recorder ’ s “ Dub bing ” has the f ollowing two definitions: Copy: The original program remains after the oper ation is completed. Mo ve: The mo ved progr am will be erased from the original location after the operation is completed.
