4 Section 1: Getting Star ted This section allows you to quickl y start us ing your phone by installing and charging the battery , activating your service, setting up your voicemail, contacting customer support. Understanding this User Manual The chapters of this manual gene rally follow the sa me order as the menus and sub-menus in yo ur phone.
Getting Started 5 Batter y Y our phone is powered by a re chargeable, standard Li-I on battery, and comes with a wall charger for charging. Note: The battery comes partially ch arged. Y ou must ful ly charge the battery before using your phone for the first time.
6 Installing the Batter y 1. Remove the batt ery cover . For more information, see “Battery Cover” on page 5. 2. Insert the top end of the ba ttery into the phone housing, aligning the gold contacts on th e top of the batt ery with the gold contacts on the phone.
Getting Started 7 1. Connect the USB cable to the charging head. 2. Insert the USB cable into the phone’ s po wer/accessor y port. 3. Plug the charging head into a standard AC power outlet. 4. When the charging is complete, the indica tor on the charging head turns green.
8 Note: When using a non-supported battery the phone can only be used for the duration of the life of the battery. The non-supported battery cannot be charged. T ur ning Y our Phone On and Of f 䊳 Press and hold the End/Power key to turn the phone’ s power on or off.
Getting Started 9 Locking and Unloc king Y our phone offers two lock func tions: locking the display , or locking the p hone. Because this is a touch screen phone, the display prevents unintentional key pres ses and can minimize unnecessary battery dr ainage.

Call Functions 27 Answ ering a Call When you receive an incoming call, you have the option to answer the call, or t o send calls directly to voi cemail. Y ou can also send the caller a text mess age response, while sending their call to voi cemail. T o answer an incoming call: • Press Send to answer the call.

Contacts 35 Deleting a Contact 1. From the Home Screen, touch Contacts . 2. T ouch the desired co ntact list entry . 3. T ouch . 4. At the prompt, touch Ye s to delete the e ntry. Backup Assistant Backup Assistant is a wireless service that saves a copy of your Contacts to a secure web site.

Entering T ext 43 Using T9 W ord T9 Word is a predictive text i nput mode that recognizes comm on words matching the sequence of your key presses and inserts the most common word into your text. T9 Word requires only one key press per letter of the word and is much faster than traditional te xt entry.

Air plane Mode When Airplane M ode is activated, all wi reless functions of the phone are disabled, and you cann ot send or receive calls or messages, but you can use the other features of your phone.
Settings 55 • Phonebook Access : PBAP profile allows sharing of your name card and phonebook entries with a compatible Bluetoo th device. • Basic Printing : BPP profile allows printing of JPEG fil es to a Bluetooth- enabled printer . • Basic Imaging : BIP profile allows sending of non-protec ted images for storing and printing.
