2 Introduction Thank you for purchasing this camera. Every thing you need to take quality digital photos and videos is included with your camera. Vivitar makes capturing those special moments a s easy as possible. Note: Your camera needs an SD Memory card (up to 32GB) for normal use.

5 W hen pow ering the camera ON for the first ti me you may manually go through a nd setup s ome o f the features of your camera. Powering the Came ra ON 1) Make sure the battery has been inserted properly into your digital camera. First, open the battery compartment on the side of the camera.
6 Main Camera Modes Your camera has different modes for the various camera functions. You can switch modes by pressing the MODE button on your camera after the camera ha s been powered ON. Video Capture Mode Use this mode to capture videos with your digital camera.

8 Computer Sy stem Requ irements – Wind ows To be able to download photos and videos to y our PC, you will need the following minimum configuration: Pentium 4 processor or above w ith W indow s .
9 Charging the Li thium Battery Only use the Lithium Battery that is included in the packaging. To charge the Lithium Battery insert the battery into the camera in the direction as shown. 5) Make sure the camera is powered off. 6) Plug in the AC Adapter included in the package and connect the other end to the USB slot of the camera.
10 Powering the came ra OFF W hile the c amera is on, you can press the Pow er button again at any point to turn your camera OFF. You will see a “Goodbye” splash screen and then the camera will power off completely.
11 Navigating the Menu s Each camera mode has a set of menus specific to that mode. 1) Press the OK button to open the menus for the current mode. 2) Press the LEFT/ViviLink Button or RIGHT/LED Button direction control buttons to scroll between the various menus for the current mode.
12 Photo Cap ture Mode The Photo Capture mode allows you to capture pictures with y our digital camera. T aking a Picture 1) W hile in Ph oto Capture mode, use the LCD display to direct the camera at the scene y ou would like to capture. 2) Click the T/Zoom In and W/Zoom Out buttons to zoom in/out if desired.
13 Photo Capture M ode Menus The following are the menus that appear in your camera‟s Photo Ca pture Mode:.
14 Scene Menu The Sc ene Menu allow s you to c hoose scene settings that allow y our camera to adapt properl y to your current environment. 1) Press the OK button to open the menus for the current mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the chosen menu.
15 Image Qualit y Menu The Image Quality menu allow s you to select th e desired quality level of the images ta ken by y our camera. Keep in mind that images with a higher image quality level w ill also take up more memory on your camera. 1) Press the OK button to open the menus for the current mode.
16 8) An icon reflecting your selection will display on the L CD screen. 9) Remember that this setting will be saved by your camera until you manually change the setting or restore the camera‟s default factory settings.
17 Facing the camera - The face of the subject(s) you are photographing must be facing the camera and must hold the pose for at least 4 t o 5 seconds until the green square(s) appears around the subject`s face. Face Detect will not work with a side shot of the subject`s head.
18 1) Press the OK button to open the menus for the current mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the chosen menu. 3) Press the UP or DOWN direction control buttons to scroll through the menu options. 4) Press the OK button to select the desired option.
19 Color Effect Menu You can choose to add a color effect to the images taken with your came ra. 1) Press the OK button to open the menus for the current mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the chosen menu. 3) Press the UP or DOWN direction control buttons to scroll through the menu options.
20 Image Sharpness M enu You can set the level of sharpness in the images taken with y our camera. The sharpness level dictates if the edges of objects in the image are more or l ess distinct. 1) Press the OK button to open the menus for the current mode.

ISO Menu The ISO menu allows you to set the level of sensitivity that your c amera ha s to light in the surrounding environment.
22 Multi – Used in standard conditions the c amera div ides and adjusts the se ttings of the image into several zones for light metering such as complex lig ht conditions, position of subject, brigh.
23 Date/Time Menu W hen y ou capture an image with your camera, the image will include a time stamp with the date and time that the image was taken. The Date/Time menu allows you to set your camera‟s date and time as desired. Y ou can also disable the timestamp for future images that will be taken with your camera.
24 Silent Mode M enu You have the option of activating the camera‟s silent mode to disable a ll of the sound effects that the camera emits when performing camera functions. 1) Press the OK button to open the menus for the current mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the chosen menu.
25 Frequenc y Menu The options in the Frequency menu represent the frequency of the electrical current in flourescent lighting sources in your locale. If your camera is set to a frequency that does not match your country‟s electric current, you may see waves on the images taken by your camera.
26 5) You will be asked to confirm your wish to format your memory card. 6) Select “No” to exit without formatting. 7) Select “Yes” and press the OK button to begin the format. 8) The memory card will be completely formatted. 9) A message will appear confirming that your memory card has been formatted clean.
27 Zooming In/Out on a Photo Press the T / Zoom In button to zoom in on a photo on your camera. Use the LEFT and RIGHT buttons to navigate around the photo. Press the W/Zoom Out button to zoom out on a photo on your camera. Thumbnail View Easily navigate and select the image you wish to view by using the Thumbnail View.
28 Photo Pla yback Mode Menus The following are the menus that appear in your camera‟s Photo Pl ayback Mode: Viv iLink Menu The Viv iLink technology allows you to quickly and easily upload y our camera‟s photos and videos to the social networks of your choice with the accompanying Vivitar Ex perience Image Manager application.
29 8) Changing the ViviLink destination site will also make the selected site the n ew default ViviLink option. A new default can be selected at any time through t his menu. 9) Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to select the next menu item. 10) Press the MODE button to exit the menu and return to y our previous mode.
30 10) If you selected to sav e, th e cropped picture will now be saved as a new picture to your memory card. Protect/Lock M enu Pic tures and Videos taken with your camera can be protected or “locked” to prevent any deletion or alteration being made to the files.
31 Print Photos M enu You can use the Print Photos menu to print the photos t hat are on you r camera directly to a Pictbridge compatible printer. 1) Scroll through your pictures and find the one you would like to print. 2) Press the OK button to open the menus for the current mode.
32 Video Capture Mode The Video Capture Mode allows you to capture videos w ith your digital camera. W hen the camera is first powered ON, the camera will be in Video Capture Mode. T aking a Video 1) W hile in Video Capture Mode, use the LCD display to direct the camera at the s cene you would like to capture.

39 Metering Menu The Metering setting will affect how your camera focuses when capturing an image. Depending on your selection, the camera wil l be more sensitive to focusing on particular areas in the display and adjust the image color and lighting accordingly .
40 4) Press the OK button to select the desired option. 5) A selected option icon will appear on the selected item. 6) Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to select the next menu item. 7) Press the MODE button to exit the menu and return to y our previous mode.
41 3) The “ Date Setup ” submenu will open. 4) Scroll through the window with the right and left navigation buttons. For each field in the menu, use the UP and DOW N navigation buttons to set th e time and date. 5) Press the MODE button to exit the menu and return to y our previous screen .
42 5) A selected option icon will appear on the selected item. 6) Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to select the next menu item. 7) Press the MODE button to exit the menu and return to y our previous mode.
43 Th is option can only delete all of the content at one time. If you wou ld like to delete individual images, use the delete menu in the camera‟s Playback mode. 1) Press the OK button to open the menus for the current mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the chosen menu.
44 Video Play back Mode W hen y ou first turn on the camera, the camera will be in Video Cap ture mode by default. Press the MODE button twice to open the Playback Mode. Th e Playback Mode will allow you to review and edit photos and videos that you‟ve already taken with you camera.

47 Note: The only limitation of using the TV screen is that the came ra is now not portable. 1) Connect the camera to a TV via the TV-out cable (supplied). 2) Turn on the TV and the camera, and then set the TV to “AV” mode. 3) You will need to set the TV format on the camera to suit the TV format of your TV set.
48 Installing the Soft ware You must be connected to the internet to install and run the Vivitar Experien ce Image Manager software. 1) Insert the installation CD into your CD-ROM drive. The installation screen should aut omatically open. 2) On PC: The Vivitar Experience Image Manager Installer window appears.
49 Note: If you do not have internet access, y ou can still dow nload m edia from the camera. Click the “How to transfer photos and videos from my camera to my computer” button for instructions. 5) If you have internet access, the “Choose your language” window open s, choose your language and click “Next” to open the next w indow.
50 Getting Photos and Videos from your Camera to Your C omputer An SD card needs to be inserted. Do not disconnect the cable during transfer. Doing so will cancel the transfer of any files on their w ay to your computer. 1) Select the “Get Images” button from the Main menu.

52 Transfer media f rom my camera to my computer manu ally (Using M acin tosh) 1) Use the USB cable that came with your camera to connect your camera to your computer. 2) MSDC appears on the LCD. 3) The camera‟s device icon appears on the desktop. 4) Click on the device icon and open the DCIM folder and the folder ins ide to view the media files.
