6 General Instructions Your Weber Gas Barbecue is a portable outdoor cooking appliance. With the Weber Gas Barbecue you can grill, barbecue, roast and bake with results that are difficult to duplicate with indoor kitchen appliances. The closed lid and Flavorizer Bars produce that "outdoor" flavor in the food.

11 Step 2 Assemble wheels Y ou will need: axle, two wheel hubcaps , two wheels , wheel frame, hammer and a b loc k of wood. Place one end of the axle on the bloc k of wood (or other protected surf ace). T ap on one hubcap . Put one wheel on the axle, WEBER side to ward the hubcap .
12 Step 5 Complete frame assemb ly Y ou will need: par tial frame assembly , one frame connector with bushings , one frame connector without bushings , f our 1/4-20 x 2 inch bolts, f our nylon w ashers and a 7/16 inch wrench. Hold the frame connector , bushing side down, between the caster and wheel frame, abo v e the front panel.

14 Step 9 Install the three back panels Y ou will need: frame assemb ly and the three back panels. (Number 2) Place the bottom of one back panel on the bac k frame connector , notches to the top . Set in place to the f ar left, butting up against the caster fr ame.
15 Burner tubes F rame brace Y our W eber Gas Barbecue burner assembly has been f actor y assembled, pressure and flame tested. As a saf ety precaution we recommend you chec k the b ur ner alignment: a) Do the valv es fit into the ends of the b ur ners? Figure 13 (a).
16 Step 12 Install gas supply General Specifications for Piping Note - Contact your local m unicipality f or building codes regulating outdoor gas barbecue installations. In absence of Local Codes, you m ust conform to the latest edition of ANSI Z223.
17 Step 13 Check that all b urner valv es are off Y ou will need: one burner control knob . (V alves are shipped in the OFF position, b ut you should check to be sure .) Put the knob on each valv e . Check b y pushing down and turning clockwise. If the y do not turn they are off , prodeed to the ne xt step .
18 Step 16 Install manif old brac ket Y ou will need: manif old brack et Hook the brac ket onto the manif old at the center b ur ner valv e . Figure 19. Place your hand underneath the brac ket. Lift the brac k et, manifold and cooking bo x slightly as a unit and hook onto the frame brace .

21 P osition slide bar assemb ly on the outside of the caster frame. Put a n ylon washer on each 1 3/4 inch scre w , inser t screws through fr ame and slide bar assembly and add nylon w ashers and hex n uts. Tighten nuts using a screwdriv er and pliers.

23 23 Step 23 Check f or gas leaks W ARNING: Y ou should check f or gas leaks every time you disconnect and reconnect a gas fitting. Note - All f actor y made connections hav e been thoroughly check ed f or gas leaks. The b ur ners ha ve been flame tested.
24 24 Place the shor t Flav orizer Bars in place in the upper positions in the cooking bo x. Set the Steam-N-Chips Smoker body on the flue and across the long Fla v orizer Bars.
25 Step 26 Install the bottom tra y Y ou will need: bottom tra y , catch pan holder , catch pan and one drip pan. Hook the ends of the catch pan holder into the hole in the bottom tra y . Figure 41. The front of the catch pan holder must be on the same side as the finger grip of the bottom tray .

28 Step 31 Complete accessor y installation Y ou will need: work table , ser ving tra y , W ar m-Up Bask et, warming rack, thermometer , two tubing plugs and a hammer . Inser t one end of the W eber W ar m-Up Bask et into the hole in the right end of the lid and the other end into the slot in the left end of the lid.
29 29 29 Lighting Summar y lighting instructions are on the control panel. Crosso ver Ignition System Note - The Crossov er Ignition System ignites the F ront burner with a spark from the igniter electrode inside the Gas Catcher Ignition Chamber . Y ou generate the energy f or the spark by pushing the Crossov er Ignition Button until it clicks .
30 30 8) After the FRONT b urner is lit you can tur n on the other burners. Note - The FRONT b urner must be on at all times when operating the other b ur ners.
31 31 Cooking The W eber Gas Barbecue should not be moved when operating or hot. Y ou can adjust the FRONT , CENTER and BACK b urners as desired. The control settings High (H), Medium (M), Low (L), or Off (O) are described in your W eber cookbook. The cookbook uses these notations to describe the settings of the FRONT , CENTER, and BA CK burners.
32 32 Using the Steam-N-Chips Smoker The Steam-N-Chips Smoker cooks with both W eber FireSpice W ood Chips and Chunks. F or best results with f aster cooking foods lik e steaks, b urgers and chops, etc., we recommend using the FireSpice Chips because the y ignite and create smoke f aster .
33 33 W ARNING: If there is a leak at connection (a) retighten the fitting with a wrench and rechec k for leaks with soap and water solution. If a leak persists after retightening the fitting, turn OFF the gas . DO NO T OPERA TE THE BARBECUE. Contact W eber-Stephen Customer Service.
34 34 General Maintenance W eber Spider Stopper Guar ds Y our W eber Gas Barbecue, as well as an y outdoor gas appliance, is a target f or spiders and other insects. The y can nest in the venturi section of the b ur ner tubes. This bloc ks the normal gas flow , and can cause the gas to flow bac k out of the air shutter .

36 j) Reinstall the Spider Stopper Guards. Slightly rotate the Spider Stopper Guards so that the seams are in line with the V enturi fins. There should be no gaps in the seams or in the fit around the burners and valv es . Figure 16. CA UTION: If the Spider Stopper Guar ds do not fit tightly , contact Weber -Stephen Customer Service.
37 37 FlameCheck Saf ety System The correct positioning of the thermocouple probe is shown in Figure 18. The tip of the probe is positioned in the flame. The probe senses the heat from the F ront burner , and activ ates the FlameCheck v alv e. The v alv e allows the gas to flo w into the F ront burner .
38 38 Prob lem Burners b urn with a yellow or orange flame, in conjunction with the smell of gas. Burner does not light, or flame is low in HIGH position. Experiencing flare-ups: CA UTION: Do not line the bottom tra y with aluminum f oil. Burner flame pattern is erratic.
