Connection 22 Connecting a DVI sourc e dev ice The pr ojector pro vides a DVI inpu t socket that allows you to connect it to a D VI sourc e device like a DVD playe r , or a V G A output device lik e a notebook or desktop computer . There ar e three types of DVI connect ors: DVI-A, DV I-D , and DVI-I.
Connection 23 In the unlikely event that you connect the projector to a DVD player via the projector’ s DVI-D input and the projected picture displays wrong colors, please change the color space to YUV. See "Changing Color Sp ace" on page 31 for details.

Operat ion 26 Operation Star ting up the projecto r 1. Plug the po wer cor d into the project or and into a wall socket. T urn on the wall sock et switch (where fitted). Check that the Po we r i n d ic a t o r on the projector lights orange after power ha s been applied.
Operation 27 Us i n g t h e m e n u s The pr ojector is equip ped with On-Screen Dis play (OSD) me nus for making various adjustments and settings. Below is the overview of the OSD menu. T o use the OSD menus, please set the OSD menu to y our familiar language first.
Operat ion 28 Securing the projecto r U sing a secur ity cable lock The proj ector has to be installed in a safe p lace to pr event st ealing. If not, pur chase a lock, like K ensington lock, to secure the projector . Y ou can locate a K ensington lock slot on the rear side of the projecto r .
Operation 29 Setting a password Once a passwor d has been set and the p ower on lock is activated, the projector cannot be used unless the correct p assword is entered every time the projector is st arted.
Operat ion 30 Entering the password r ecall procedure Press and hold AUTO on the project or or remote control for 3 seconds. The pr oje ctor will display a coded number on the screen. W rite down the number and turn off your projector . S eek help from the local BenQ ser vice cent er to decode the number .
Operation 31 Though the password function is disabled, you need to keep the old password in hand should you ever need to re-ac tivate the p assword function by entering the old password. S w itching input signal The pr ojector can be co nnected to m ultiple devices at the s ame time.

Operation 33 Corr ecting keysto ne K eystoning refers to the situation where the proj ected image is notic eably wider at either the top or bott om. It occurs when the projec tor is not perpendicular to the screen.
