The maximum (nativ e) resolution of the projector is 1024 x 768 pixels, which is a 4 to 3 aspect ratio (expr essed as 4:3).

Operation 31 S w itching input signal The project or can be connect ed to multiple devices at the same time. H owev er , it can only display one full screen at a time. T o cy cle through the avail able input sources, press SOURCE on the p rojector or remote control.
Operat ion 32 A uto-adjusting the image In some cases, you may need to optimize the picture quality . T o do this, press AU T O on the projec tor or remote c ontrol. W ithin 3 seconds, the buil t-in Intellig ent A uto A djustment function will re-adj ust the values of Frequency , and Clock to provide the best pi cture quality .
Operation 33 Selecting the aspect ratio The "aspect ratio" is the ratio of the image width to the image height. Most analog TV and comput ers are in 4:3 ratio , which is the default fo r this projector , and digital TV is usually in 16:9 ratio.
Operat ion 34 Optimizing the image T o optimize the image, use the buttons on th e pr ojector or r emote con trol to adjust the image settings directly , or to change the se ttings on the On-Screen Display (OSD) menus. For the operation of OSD menus, refer to "U sing the menus" on page 42 .
Operation 35 Selecting a preset mode The pr ojector is pr eset with several pr edefined appl ication modes so that you can choose one to suit your operating environment and input source picture ty pe. T o select a op eration mode that suits your need, press MODE on the remot e control .
Operat ion 36 Other adjustments If y ou are not satisfi ed w ith the pictu re quality made by the preset mode s, you can manuall y adjust some of the settings through the On-Sc reen Displa y (OSD) menus. Adj us t in g b r ig h t ne ss Press MENU on the projector or remote c ontrol.
Operation 37 Oper ating in a high altitude environment W e r ecommend y ou use th e High Altitude Mo de when your en v ironment is higher than 3000 feet abov e sea level, or i s hotter than 40 °C , or whenever the projector will be use d for extended perio ds of time (>10 hours) witho ut shutdown.
Operat ion 38 Hid i ng th e i m ag e In order to draw the audience's full attention to the presenter or other media , you can use BLANK to hi de the projected imag e when needed . The word ' BLANK ' appears at the bo ttom right corner of the screen while the image is hidden.
Operation 39 PIP (Picture In Picture) operation Y our projector is capable of displaying images simultaneously from two input sourc es, which can be use d to enhance your presentation i n an interesting way . These func tions are available only when the in put source is PC and the PIP source is Video or S-Video .
Operat ion 40 Shutting do w n the pr ojector 1. Press Po we r and a con firmation message will display pro mpting you as pictured to the right. If y ou don't respond in a few sec onds, the message will disapp ear . 2. Press Po we r a se cond time to turn th e project or off.

Maintenance 48 M aintenance Care of the pr ojector Y our project or needs little main tenance. Th e only thing y ou need to do on a regular basi s is to keep the lens clean and to clean th e dust filters to prevent overheat ing. See "Cleaning the lens" and "Cleanin g and replacing the dust filters" below for de tails.
Maintenance 49 A warning mess age like th e one pictured t o the right will be displayed fo r 10 seconds every 300 hours of use to remind yo u to clean the filters. IMPORT ANT : Please ensure that the projector is properly shutdown before removing the filters for cleaning or replacement.
Maintenance 50 If the c ove rs are not c orrectly seated i n place, y ou will be reminded by a message displa yed on the screen ever y three minutes. The projector w ill automa tically shut down after 10 minutes if there has been no fur ther acti on taken.
Maintenance 51 R eplacing the lamp • T o reduce the risk of electrical shock, alw ays turn the projector off and disconnect the power cord before changing the lamp. • T o reduce the risk of severe burns, allow the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes before replacing the lamp.
