13 Positioning your projector English O btaining a preferred pr ojected image size The distance from the project or lens to the screen, th e zoom setting, and the video format ea ch factors in the projected imag e size.

In the se situations, some image distor tion w ill occur . Use the K eystone function to correct the distortion.

16 Positioning your projector English Shifting the pr ojection lens The lens shift control pr ovides flexibilit y for installi ng your projector . It allows the projector to b e positioned off the center of the screen. The lens shift is expressed as a p ercentage of the projected image height or w idth.
17 Connecting with video equipment English Co nnecting w ith v ideo equipment Y ou can connect th e projector to any typ e of v ideo equipment, such as a V CR, DVD play er , digital tuner , cable or satellite decoder , video game console or digi tal camera.

Many laptops do not turn on their external video ports when connected to a projecto r . Usually a key combination like Fn + F3 o r CRT/LCD key turns th e external display on/off.

If not already in, plug the supplied po wer cable into the A C inlet on the rear o f the projector . 3. Plug the pow er cable into a wall po wer outlet and turn the wall switch on.
21 Using the projector English Selecting an input sourc e The projector can be connected to mu ltiple equipment at the sam e time . W hen the projector is first turned on, it w ill attempt to reco nnect w ith the input source which was in use when the projector was last shut down.
22 Using the projector English Us i n g t h e m e n u s The projector is equipped with multilingual On -Screen Display (OSD) menus for making v arious adjustments and s ettings. Below is the ov erv iew of the OSD menu. T o use the OSD menus, please set the OS D menu to y our familiar lang uage.
23 Using the projector English U tilizing the password function For security pu rposes and to help prevent unauthorized use, the projector includes an option for setting up password security . The password can be set throug h the On-Scr een Display (OS D) menu.
24 Using the projector English Entering the password r ecall procedure 1. Make sur e the Input Password page displays on screen. Pr ess and hold PRESET MODE on the projec tor or remote control for 3 seconds. The projector wil l display a coded number on the screen .

These can be us ed i f n eces s ar y to ch an ge t he p roj ec ti on ang le. Screw the feet in or out as appropriate to aim and le vel the projection angle.
26 Using the projector English U sing the preset and user modes Selecting a preset mode The projector is preset w ith several pre-define d picture modes so that you can choose one to suit your operating en vironment and input sourc e picture type. 31 Using the projector English Color Management In most installation situations, color management wil l not be necessar y , such as in classroom, meeting room, or lounge room situations where lights remain on, or where building external w indows allow daylight into the room.
32 Using the projector English Setting 3D Comb Filter This feature separates composite sign al to Y (brightness) signal and C (color) signal, and can help produce clear er and sharper images with cor rec t co lo rs in pl ace.
33 Using the projector English 3. Letter B ox ( LB ): Scales a picture t o fit the projector’ s native resol ution in its hori zontal width and resize the picture ’ s height to the 3/4 of the projection w idth.
34 Using the projector English Oper ating in a hig h altitude en v ironment W e r ecommend that you activat e High Alt itude Mode when your en vironment is higher than 1500 meters (around 4920 feet) abov e sea level, or whenev er the proj ector will be used for extended periods of time (>10 hours) without shutdown.
