Since the scanner is detected as a disc drive when it is connected to a comp uter, you cannot scan with the Xerox Mobile Scanner using these applications.

XMS PC Connect User’s Guide 16 C onnect the Scanner When scanning using the XMS PC C o nnect application, you do not need to ha ve a memory card or USB flash drive inserted in the scanner. 1. Plug the USB cable into the USB port on the scanner then into a USB port on the computer.
