7 ◆ Operational range Operate the remot e control within a distance of 10 m from the projector , pointing the light beam at the remote control sensor (front or rear) of the projector . Caution • K eep the remote control sensor out of direct sunlight or fluorescent lamp light.
8 ◆ Setting up the screen Install the screen perpendicularly to the pr ojector . If the screen can not be installe d in such a way , adjust the projection an gle of the projector as show n below . Important • Bef ore setting up the screen, be sure to set SCREEN ASPECT in the SETUP menu to either 16:9 or 4:3.

11 ◆ Basic home theater system connection Important • Make sure that the power of the projector and that of the video equipment a re tur ned off. • Connection methods and ter minal names may diff er depending on the video equipment you are connnecting.
12 ◆ Connecting to a video pla yer , etc . Using the VI DEO terminal 1. Conn ect one end (yellow) of a commercially av ailable video cable to the VIDEO input terminal of this projector. 2. Conn ect the other end (yellow) of the video cab le to the VIDEO output termina l of the video equipment.
13 ◆ HDMI or D VI connections Y ou can project high-quality images by c onnecting the HDMI input terminal of this pr ojector to video equi pment having a HDMI ou tput terminal or a D VI-D output ter minal. In addition, this projecto r supports HDCP and is able to re cei ve encrypted digital video d ata that are output from D VD players.
14 ◆ Connecting to a computer Important • Make sure that the po wer of the projecto r and that of the computer are tur ned off. • When connecting the pro jector to a desktop computer , disc onnect the RGB cable that is connected to the monitor .
15 ◆ TRIGGER terminal The TRIGGER terminal on the rear of the projector is a terminal that outputs 12 V signal to cont rol an e xternally connected equ ipment whe n images are projected. T o use the TRIGGER terminal, set TRIGG ER OUT to ON in the SETUP menu.

31 This projector automatically and properly pr ojects video signa ls supplied from the computer . Ho we ver , some video signals may no t be projected depending on the type of the compu t er . In such cases, press the A UTO SYNC bu tton on the projector or the A UTO b utton on the remote control (see page 20).
32 This projector is equipped with a lamp to proje ct images. This lamp is a cons umable, so it may b urn out or its brightness may d ecrease during use. If this happens, replace the lamp with a new one as soon as possible. B e sure to replace the lamp with a ne w , commercially a v ailable lamp that is e xclusi ve to this projector .
33 ◆ Replacing the lamp W arning • Do not replace th e lamp i mmediately after using the proj ector because the lamp wo uld be extremel y hot and it may cause b urns. 1. Carefull y turn th e projector upside-down (a). 2. Loo sen the screw (b) using a Phillips screwdriver (+), and remov e the lamp co ve r (c).

35 ◆ T roub leshooting Refer to the ch art belo w when this p rojec tor does not function properly . If the problem you are e xperiencing is not listed belo w or if the instructions do not help, stop using th e projector and contact your dealer . No image appear s on the sc reen.
