Preparation Procedure 9 PREP ARA TION English Follo w the procedure b elow to connect this unit to the netw ork, and then connect the A C adapter . 1 Using a LAN cable, connect the LAN port of this unit to the network. 2 Connect the AC adapte r to the DC IN 12V terminal.
Preparation Procedure 10 Register the IP address and subnet mask of this unit, and the def ault gate way and DNS serv er used b y it according to the en vironment of the LAN in which this unit is acc ommodated. The op eration is dif ferent depending on whether or not the DHCP server is used.

Making a Call 15 BASIC CALL OPERA TIONS English Follo w the procedure belo w to specify an IP address to call another unit. Both PJP units should be turned on and connected to the network with a LAN cable. 1 Press repeatedly until the initial display appears.

Answering a Call 20 Follo w the procedure below to answer a call from anoth er unit. 1 While having an incoming call, press . When there is an incoming call , the back light of the display lights up and the ringing tone is generated. The display shows the IP address of the unit calling this unit.
Talking with Multiple Locations 21 BASIC CALL OPERA TIONS English This unit is designed to enable a con feren ce call between up to 4 locations (with th e mesh connection). It is also possible to call a ne w location (branch of f ice or department) during a call.
Talking with Multiple Location s 22 The information display and speaker output method are var iable depending on th e se ttings in “Connection Mode” (page 27) and “Speaker Mode” (page 29). ■ When “Speaker Mo de” is set to “Divide ” The audio from each location is output from a dif ferent position.

33 CONFIGURA TIONS English Y ou can register up to 16 PJP units in th e address book of this unit. The address book can be used to sele ct and call a unit (page 17). T o register ne w PJP units or edit the registered information, use the web menu. 1 In the web menu, c lic k “Vie w/Edit Address Book”.
34 Editing Address Book 1 In the web menu, click “View/Edit Ad dress Book”. The “Address Book” windo w appears. 2 From the ad dress list, cl ick “Edit” for the address you want to edit. The “Edit Address” window appears. 3 Edit the information of the selected address, and then clic k “Register”.
35 CONFIGURA TIONS English When this unit is used in an e n vironment with a SIP server , the address of the SIP serv er to be referenced by this unit and the SIP address of this unit should be registered. If password authentication is required for accessing the desired SIP server , it is also necessary to enter the password.
36 Using the SIP Server ■ Calling another unit b y dialing the user ID Y ou can call another unit by di aling the user ID if it consists of only the numbers. Example: SIP address of this unit is 200@server1.ne t, and another unit is 201@server1.ne t Y ou can call another unit only by dialing “201”.
37 CONFIGURA TIONS English The SNTP ser ver (t ime distrib ution serv er) e nables to adjust the date and time info rmation in th is unit automa tically at constant interv als. • The date and time of this unit cannot be adjusted without a SNTP server .
MANAGING THE CALL HISTORY 38 This unit stores the call history of up to 15 ev ents. Y ou can save the call history as a tab-delimited tex t (TSV format) file by do wnload ing it to the PC. 1 In the web menu, click “Do wnload Call History”. The “Download File” windo w appears.
39 CONFIGURA TIONS English Y ou can send information or the e vent which occurs in the system of this unit to another uni t as the message (thi s is called “Syslog”). “Syslog” contains info rmation of such as start/shut do wn of this uni t, login, the activity in normal stat es, the states of an error .
HIERARCHICAL CONNECTION OF MULTIPLE PJP UNITS (CASCADE CONNECTION) 40 The cascade connection classi fies the PJP units to be in v olved in a call into the serv ers and clients, connects each client to a serv er and establishes the call b y interconnecting the servers.
41 Hierarchical Connection of Multip le PJP Units (Cascade Connection) CONFIGURA TIONS English First configure the setting of cascad e server unit, and then configure the settings of the cascade client units. ■ Step 1. Configure the setting of t he cascade server .
UPDATING THE FIRMWARE 42 Y ou can download the firmw are (program to control the functi ons of this unit) to use the latest features. There are two ways to install the f irmware: the one is that you connect to the internet using this unit and automaticall y install the latest firmw are to this unit.

45 Updating the Firmware CONFIGURA TIONS English 2 Start “Command Prompt” in the Windows PC which can access the web menu of this unit. When using W i ndo ws XP , select the “Sta rt” menu → “All Progr am” → “Accessories” → “Command Prompt”.

RESETTING THE UNIT 50 Y ou can restore the factory settings of this unit. Before restoring the factory settings, note the following. • All of the settings that have the default settings are set to the default settings. • The data in the address book (page 33) and call histo ry (page 38) are cleared.
