8 2. HOW TO SET THE MINUTE MINDER IMPO RT A NT The minute m inder can be us ed to t ime a s et cook ing period. At the e nd of the cook tim e the m inute minder will autom atic ally swi tch of f the main oven if in use. The m inute minder gives an audib le rem inder at the end of any period of cook ing up to 23 hour s and 59 minutes .

If a fau lt or cr ack becomes visible dur ing cooking, disconnect the ap pliance imm ediatel y from the el ectricity supply a nd contact y our local Service Force Centre. 14 THE TOP OVEN The top o ven is th e sm aller of the t wo ovens. It is heated b y elements in the top oven and bo ttom of the oven. It is des igned f or c ooking sm aller quan tities of food. It g ives esp ecia lly good results if used to co ok fruit c akes , sweet or sa voury f lans or quiche.
15 HINTS AND TIPS · All cook ing sh ould b e carried out us ing an o ven shelf pos ition ed in one of the shelf runn ers. · There should alwa y s be at leas t 2.5cm (1”) between t he top of the f ood and the elem ent. This gives best cook ing resu lts a nd al lows room for r ise in yeast m ixtures, York shire puddi ngs, etc.

22 DAILY CLE ANING Use the recom m ended Hob Brite Cl eaner da ily. If soilage is not al lowed to burn o n it will be m uch easier t o clean off . 1. Apply a s mall am ount of Hob Brite in the cen tre of each ar ea to be c leaned.
23 HINTS AND TIPS TO REDUCE HOB SOIL AGE: · Make sure the bottom of the saucepan and the cook ing area are clean and dr y before cook ing begins. · Ensure sa ucepa ns are large en ough to accomm odate food to avoid b oil o vers. · If possible, wipe up spi lls and splatter s as th ey occur, but t ak e care to avo id steam burns .
