4 DESCRIPTION OF THE APPLIANCE BUILT UNDER ELECTRIC DOUBLE OVEN Your built-under appliance comprises of an oven with co nventional and fan assisted option and du al grill in the top compartment. The multifunction main oven can be automat ically co ntrolled b y the electronic timer.

6 GRILL AND OVEN FURNITURE The following items of grill/oven fu rniture have been supplied with the appliance. 1 grill pan 1 grill pan handle 1 grill pan grid 1 shelf for grilling and top oven cooking.
7 BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE RATING PLATE This is situated on the l ower front frame of the appliance and can be se en upon opening the door. Alternatively the rating plate may also be found on the back or top of some models (where applicable). The appliance must be protected by a suitably rated fuse or circuit breake r.

9 TO CANCEL THE COUNTDOWN If you change your mind and want to can cel the 'Countdown', pre ss the Selector Control button until the 'Countdown' ( ) indicator neon flashes a nd then the decrease control ( - ) until 0.00 shows in th e display as Fig.
10 B) TO SET THE TIMER TO SWITCH OFF ONLY i) Ensure the electricity suppl y is switched ON and that the correct time of day is displayed, e.g. 10.00am as Fig. 9. ii) Set the main oven controls to th e required function and temperature. iii) Place food in the oven.
11 THE DUAL GRILL CAUTION – Acces sible parts may be hot when the grill is in use. Young children should be kept away. The grill is a dual circuit grill which means that the full area of the grill can be use d, or for economy purposes, the ce ntre section only can be used when cooking smaller quantities of food.
12 HINTS AND TIPS • Most foods should be placed on the g rid in the grill pan to allow maximum circulation of air to lift the food out of the fats and juices. • Adjust the grid and grill pan runner position to allow for different thickne sses of food.
13 THE FAN ASSISTED TOP OVEN The top oven is the smaller of the two ovens. It is heated by elements in the top and bottom of the oven and a f an. It is designed for cooking smaller quantities of food. It give s especially good results if used to cook fruit cakes, sweet and savoury flans or quiche.
14 HINTS AND TIPS • Use the top oven when yo u want to warm plates. Use the lowest setting on the top oven temperature control. • There should always b e at least 2.5cm (1”) between the top of the food and the grill element. This gives best cooking results and allo ws room for rise in yeast mixture s, Yorkshire puddings etc.
15 THE CONVENTIONAL TOP OVEN This form of cooking gives you the opportunity t o cook without the fan in o peration. It is particularly suitable for some cook chilled convenie nce foods and dishes which requi re extra base browning such as pizzas, quiches and fla ns.
16 HINTS AND TIPS • Single level cooking give s best result s. If you require more than one le vel of cooking use the main fan oven. • The middle shelf allows for th e best heat distribution. To increase base browning simpl y lower the shelf po sition.
17 TOP OVEN COOKING CHART The oven temperatures are intended a s a guide only. It ma y be necessary i ncrease or decrea se the temperatures by a further 10°C to suit indivi dual preference s and requirements.
18 THERMAL GRILLING IN THE TOP OVEN Thermal grilling in the top oven offers an alternative method of cooking food items no rmally associated with conventional grilling. Thermal grilling helps to mini mise cooking smells i n the kitchen and allo ws you to grill with the oven door closed.

20 DEFROSTING IN THE TOP OVEN This top oven function en ables you to defrost most foods without heat faster than some con ventional methods as the oven fan circulate s air around the food. It is particularly suitable for d elicate frozen foods which are to be served cold e.

22 • W hen toasting bread, we su ggest that the to p runner position is used with the grid in its 'high' position. • When using the centre se ction grill, ensure food is placed centrally on th e grilling grid directly beneath the grill element.
23 THE MAIN OVEN The main fan oven is parti cularly suitable for cooki ng larger quantities of food. The advantages of fan oven coo kin g are: PREHEATING The Fan oven quickly rea ches its temperature so it is not usually necessary to preheat the oven.
24 TO FIT THE MAIN OVEN SHELVES The shelf should be fitted with the straight rods uppermost on the fram e and the forms to wards the back of the oven. To remove a shelf slid e the shelf towards you until the shelf stop is reached. Tilt shelf up at the front so that the stops clear the sid e supports.
25 THE CONVENTIONAL OVEN This form of cooking gives you the opportunity t o cook without the fan in o peration. It is particularly suitable for dishes which require extra base browning such as pies, quich es and flans. Gratin's, lasag ne and hotpots which require extra top browning also cook well in the conventional oven.

27 MAIN OVEN COOKING CHART The oven temperatures are i ntended as a guide only. It may be necessary to incre ase or decrease the temperatures by a further 10°C to suit individual p references and requireme nts. Note: Shelf positions are counted from the bottom of the oven.
28 ROASTING CHART INTERNAL TEMPERATURES – Rare : 50-60°C; Medium : 60-70°C; Well done : 70-80 °C MEAT TEMPERATURE COOKING TIME Beef/ Beef boned 160-180°C 20-35 minutes per ½kg (1lb) and 20-35 m.
29 PIZZA FUNCTION This setting can be used for foods such as pizza where base browning and cri spness are required. The lower element operates in conjunction with the oven fan. USING PIZZA FUNCTION • Push out and turn the main oven mult ifunction selector to Pi zz a setting.

COOKING TIMES Cooking times for co nvenience foods should be the same or slightly quicker than those stated on the packaging.

34 CARE AND CLEANING Before cleaning al w ays allo w the appliance to cool down before switching off at th e electricity supply. CLEANING MATERIALS Before using any cleaning materials on you r appliance, check that they are suitable and that their use is recommended by th e manufacturer.
35 CLEANING INSI DE THE OVENS The sides and back of the g rill/top oven and main oven compartments a re coated with a special Stayclean coating. The y should not be cleaned manually. The vitreous enamel mai n oven base and grill/top oven compartment base can be cleaned using normal oven cleaners wi th care.
36 CLEANING THE OUTER AND INNER DOOR GLASS PANELS To prevent damaging or weakening the door glass panels av oid the use of the following: • Household d etergents and bleaches • Impregnated pads un.
37 TO REPLACE THE OUTER DOOR GLASS 1. Holding the oven gla ss with both hands, gentl y place the locators into the holes of the brackets at the bottom of the oven door. 2. Holding the door glass with your left hand, use your right hand to open the oven doo r.
38 REPLACING AN OVEN LIGHT BULB Disconnect the appl iance from the electricity supply befor e replacing the bulb. The type of bulb required is a 3 00°C, 25 watt small Edison Screw. 1. Make sure the appliance is cool before you replace a bulb. 2. Open the door and remove the shelves and wirework runner s.
39 SOMETHING NOT WORKING Please carry out the following checks on your appliance before calling a Service Engineer. It may be that the problem is a simple one which you can solve y ourself without the expense of a service call.

43 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS WARNINGS • This appliance must be installed by a qualified electrician/comp etent person. Safe ty may be impaired if installation is not carried out in accordance with these instructions. • This appliance must be earthed.
44 THINGS TO NOTE • T his appliance is designed to be fitted between cabinets with the re commended dimen sions as shown in Fig. 3 & 4. • If there is an existing housing unit it must be removed. • The dimensions given provide adequate air circulation around the unit within the cabinet, ensuring compliance with BS EN60-3 35.
45 HOW TO FINISH UNPACKING • Place packed appliance next to the space in which it will be installed. • Remove the appliance packing ex cept for bottom tray which should be left in position until the appliance is ready to be fitted into its cabinet.
46 CONNECTING TO THE MAINS TERMINAL Warning: This appliance must be earthed. • We recommend you use a new length of 6mm 2 twin core and earthed cable to ensure you r safety. • Make connection as shown in Fig.11 b y proceeding as follows:- • Preform wires to the appropriate shape to suit fitting into the mains terminal block.
47 FITTING INTO THE SPACE BETWEEN CABINETS IMPORTANT: Ensure that the oven is switched off at the wall before any further work is carried out. • Position the appliance in front of the cabinet. See Fig. 12. • Take out all oven furniture before installation to reduce the weig ht you need to lift.
