24 Keys Explained Key Function Power Key • Hold to select phone modes: Silent, Vibration, Airplane or Power off. • Press to switch your phone to Sleep mode. • Press to wake up your phone. Home Key • Press to return to the Home Screen from any application or screen.

Starting up Installing the SIM/microSD Card and Battery Switch off your phone before ins talling or replacin g the battery, SIM, or memory card.
26 3. Open the microSD card holder, hold your microSD card by the cut corner end and slide it in. microSD logo is a trade mark of the SD Card Association. 4. Insert the battery by aligning the gold contacts o n the bat te ry w it h t he g ol d contacts in the battery compartment.
27 Gently push down on the battery until it clicks into place. 1 2 5. Press the cover gently back into place until you hear a click. Removing the Battery and SIM/microSD Card 1. Make sure that your mobile phone is off. 2. Remove the back cover. 3. Lift the battery up and out.
28 Charging the Battery When you first get your new phone you’ll need to charge the battery like this… 1. Connect the adapter to the charger jack. 2. Connect the charger to a standard AC wall outlet. 3. Disconnect the charger when the battery is fully charged.
29 Switching Your Phone On/Off 1. Make sure the SIM is in your device and the battery is charged. 2. Hold Power Key to switch on your phone. 3. To switch it off, hold Power Key to get the phone options.
30 Switching to Sleep Mode To save battery power, Sleep Mode suspends your device to a l o w - p ow er - c o n su mp ti on state wh ile the display is off. Your device also goes into Sleep Mode by itself when the display is automatically turned off after a certain period of time, which you can set in Settings > Displa y > Screen timeout .
31 3. Flick the screen to scroll up, down, left or right. 4. Point, drag and drop to move particular items across the screen – into files etc. 5. Pinch with two fingers to zoom in/out a web page or an image. NOTE: You can view the phone sc reen in portrait or landscape simply by holding it upright or turning it on its side.
32 Extended Home Screen The Home Screen extends beyond the screen width, giving you loads more space to add more stuff. Simply slide your finger to the left/right or tap the Dots to see the extended Home Screen. Choosing Your Wallpaper 1. Tap Home K ey to return to the Home Screen.

40 Open Recently Used Applications 1. Hold Home Key from any screen until the following recently used applications screen appears. 2. Tap the application you want to open.
41 Phone Calls How to Make Calls There are many ways to make a call with your Blade. And they’re all easy to do. Calling from the Dialer 1. Tap Home Key > > Dialer . 2. Enter the phone number or the contact name you want to call. If you make a mistake, tap to erase a wrong entry, or hold this key to clear all digits.
42 Calling from Your Call History 1. Tap Home Key > > Call log . You can also open Ca ll log by tapping the Call log tab from the Contacts Screen, or by tapping from Dialer .
43 2. Enter the full phone number. For example: +49-123-12345 678 in the following format: + country code / ar ea c ode / phone number. 3. Tap . Whether you can make international calls depends on network status and/or your tariff. Usually a quick call will make it possible.
44 Putting a Call on Hold During a call, you can put it on hold by tapping . The icon will appear on the screen. TIPS: If you accept an incoming call while you’re on another call, the first call automatically goes on hold. Just tap to switch between the two callers.
45 Call Barring Settings Forbid certain types of calls. Roaming adapt settings Enable roaming adapt and set roaming adapt number to save money when on a roaming network.
46 Contacts You can save con tacts to your phone memory or your SIM. More information can be saved on the phone me mory for a contact than on th e SIM. For instance, postal add ress es , pictures, nicknames, web si te s, et c. To go your contacts, tap Home K ey > > Contacts .
47 4. Tap Done . Import Contacts from the microSD Card or Export to the Card 1. Tap Menu Key > Import/Export from the Contacts Screen. 2. Choose to import or export contacts. Tap OK to export contacts. If you want to import contacts from the micro SD card , y ou should have v Card files sav ed in the micro SD card.
48 Creating a Group and Adding Contacts 1. Tap Groups tab from the Cont acts Screen. 2. Tap Menu Key > New Group . 3. Input the group name and tap OK . 4. Tap the group just created from the group list to open it. 5. Tap Menu Key > Add . 6. Select the contacts you want to add to this group.
49 Searching for a Contact 1. Tap Menu Key > Search from the Contacts Screen . 2. Input the contact name you want to search for. The contacts matched will be listed. Editing a Contact 1. Tap the contact you want to edit from the Contacts Screen. 2.
50 Entering Text When you enter a field tha t needs text or number s, a keyboard automatically appears on the screen. H o l d t h e i nput box and select I nput method from the pop-up menu to change input method. Android Keyboard The Android Keyboard provides a layout similar to a desktop computer keyboard.
51 Google Pinyin Input Method Use Google Pinyin input method to enter English and Simplified Chinese. iWnn IME Use iWnn IME to enter Japanese and English.
52 In iWnn IME mode, you can use one key to enter several characters. For instance, as shown below, tap the ke y to enter ‘t’; tap it and slide up to enter ‘v’; tap it and slide down to enter ‘8’.
53 • Automatic word insertion You can also select the input languages or change the location of the voice input button. Google Pinyin Input Method Settings You can tick the check boxes to enable •.
54 Messaging Your SMS (text message ) and MMS (multim edia message) are located in Messages ( Home Key > > Messages ). When you receive a new message, you can open it from the Notification Panel, or from t he Messages Screen. Simply tap on the new message to read it.
55 Sending an MMS 1. Tap Home Key > > Messages . 2. Tap New message . 3. Enter the recipient’s numbe r and, if nec essary, mess age text, just like you do wit h a text message. 4. Tap Menu Ke y > Add subject to enter the subject of your MMS.
56 Managing Messages and Thei r ‘Threads’ SMS and MMS messages sent to and received from the same contact (or number) are grouped into one message thread in the Me s s ages Sc reen. T a p t h e m e s s age thread and you can see the conversation you have had with someone (similar to a chat program).
57 • SMS limit : Set the maximum number of text messages allowed in a single thread. • MMS limit : Set the maximum number of multimedia messages allowed in a single thread. SMS settings: • Delivery reports : Request a delivery report for every text message you send.
58 Using Email Tap Home Key > > Email . You can enter the Email Screen to setup your Email account and exchange Emails. Creating an Email account 1. Enter your Email address and password, then tap Next when you enter the Email Screen for the first time.
59 TIPS: Your Blade knows the client settings for lots of Email service providers. If the Email service you use is from those providers, the phone will automatically check the incoming and outgoing settings after you enter your Email address and password.
60 You can also tap Reply all to reply to all recipients of the Email. 3. Enter the contents/recipients of your Email. 4. Tap Send . Email Settings Tap the account you want to set from the Email Screen and tap Menu Key > Account setti ngs . You can get the Email settings.
61 Notification sett ings • Email notifications : Select to be notified in status bar when Email arrives. • Select ringtone : Select the ringtone for incoming Email notification. • Vibrate : Select to be notified by vibration when Email arrives.
62 Getting Connected to the Internet Your phone’s impressive networ king capabilities allow you to access the Internet or yo ur corporate net work with ease. You can use default connection settings to conn ect to the web via your mobile netw or k ( GPR S/E DG E/3G ), or Wi -Fi.
63 4. Tap AP N to enter the APN you want to add. 5. Tap Proxy and Port to enter the Server IP and port if the network uses a proxy server. 6. Tap and enter Username and Password . (If there’s no user name or password, leave them blank.) 7. If needed, tap and enter AP N t ype .
64 Checking the Wi-Fi Network Status You can check the Wi-Fi network by looking at the icon in the status bar. Or tap Home Key > > Settings > Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi settings . Next, tap the wireless network that the phone is currently connected to.
65 Browsing the Internet You can use your phone to get on the Internet. Your phone automatically creates an ED G E o r GP R S /3 G c on n e c ti o n while you browse web pages. Tap Home K ey > > Browser . There are different ways to open web pages: • Tap the address bar to enter the website you want to browse.
66 • Share page s: Menu Key > More > Share pag e to send the page link by Bluetooth , Email, Gmail, Messa ges, or Twitter. • Downloads/page info: Me nu Key > More > Page info/Downloads. • Landscape brow ser: Menu Key > More > Settings .
67 Downloading Apps from the Web If a web page has link to an application you’d like to download, just hold on the link and select Save link . The application will be saved to your microSD card. Using Bookmarks To bookmark a web pa ge, open it, tap Menu Key > Bookmark s , and then Add/A dd book mar k .
68 3. Select an item you want to delete and hold on it until the shortcut menu pops up. 4. Select Delete bookmark and tap Co ntinue to confirm. Browser Se ttings You can set the browser text size, home p age etc. by tapping Menu Key > More > Settings from a br owser window .
69 • Accept cookie s : Allow websites to use cookies. • Clear all cookie data : Clear the bro wser cookies – deleting all history data. • Remember form data : Remember the data you t ype in forms for later use. • Clear form data : Clear all the saved form dat a.
70 Bluetooth ® Bluetooth ® is a short- range wirel ess commu nication technology. P hones or other devic es with Bluetooth capabilities can exch ange informat ion wirel essly within a distance of about 10 mete rs. The Bluet ooth devices must be paired bef ore the comm unication is perform ed.
71 Change Your Phone’s Name When your phone is visible to other Bluetooth devices it will be seen by its name, and you can make that anything you want – like ‘Dave’s Blade’. 1. Ta p Home Key > > Settings > Wireless & networks > Bl uetooth se tt ing s.
72 Making the Most of Multimedia Taking Pictures with Your Camera Your phone has a 3.2 megapixel camera. Open it by tapping Home Key > > Camera . Aim the camera at the subject and then tap to take a shot. To view it, just tap the picture in the right corner of the screen.
73 Adjusting Your Video Settings From the Camcorder Screen, tap to adjust color effect, video quality, video/audio encoder, video duration, and camcorder reset. Tap to change white balance setting. Tap High to change video quality based on the purpose of the video.
74 • Press Volume Keys to adjust the volume. • Tap Menu Key > Sleep to set the FM radio sleep ti mer. • Tap Menu Key > Band Select to choose band range. • Tap to switch off the radio. Playing Your Music You can play digital audio files from your phone’s memory card in Music .
75 Creating Playlists Playlists help y ou organize your music files: 1. Select a music file you want to add to a new playlist. 2. Tap and hold on the file until a shortcut menu pops up. 3. Tap Add to pla ylist. 4. Tap New . 5. Type the playlist name and tap Save .
76 2. Hold on the playlist you want to play or edit until a shortcut menu pops up. 3. Tap Play, Delete or Rename. Adding a Song to a Playlist 1. Open the folder where the song is. 2. Hold on the song until a shortcut menu pops up. 3. Select Add to playlist.
77 Opening Your Gallery Gallery helps you view pictures and play videos. You can als o do so me bas ic editing of your pictures – such as setting them as wallpaper or contact ic ons, and sharing with friends.
78 Making Memorable Memos Sound Recorder enables you to record your voice memos. You need a microSD card to use it. 1. Tap Home Key > > Sound Recorder . 2. Make sure your mouth is near the phone’s microphone. 3. Tap to start recording. 4. Tap to stop recording.
79 6. Tap OK to save the voice recording, or tap Discard to delete the recording. TIPS: You can find your recordings in Home Ke y > > Music > Playlists > My recordings . If you want to set an audio clip as ringtone, hold the recording and select Use as phone ringtone from the pop-up shortcut menu.
80 Using Your Google™ Applications Signing in to your Google A ccoun t lets you synchronize Gma il , Cal en da r, and Contacts b etween your phone and the web. And if you don’t have an account, you can easily create one. 1. Tap a Google application, such as Market .
81 4. Enter the email subject, and then write your email. 5. Tap Send . Using Google Calendar Tap Home K ey > > Calendar to use Google Calendar, Google’s time management application. You can use the calendar to schedule appointment s, including meetings and other events.
82 2. Enter the Google Talk instant messaging ID or Google email address of the friend you want to add. Tap Menu Key > More > Invites to check out the pending invitations you sent. Changing Your Online Status 1. Tap the online status bar under your account.
83 3. Select a business category and the information of that type of business near you will be displayed. You can also use the Find places search box on th e top to find the business you need. Note: Tap Add t o add new business categories. 4. Tap a result you are interested in and check out the details and reviews about that place.
84 Sorting out Your Phone Settings Setting Time and Date 1. Tap Home Key > Menu Ke y > Settings > Date & time . 2. Tap Set date . Adjust the date, and tap Set to save it. 3. Tap Select time zone and tap where you are in the world. 4. Tap Set time .
85 Switch the screen orientation autom atically You can select to switch your screen orientation to landscape or portrait automatically when rotating your phone. Select the Auto-rotate screen check box from the Display settings. If you want to disable this function, clear the Auto-rotat e screen check box.
86 Set the default notificati on sound 1. Select Notification Soun d from Sound settings. 2. Scroll the ringtone list and select one to set as the default notification ringtone. 3. Tap OK to save. Switch your phone to silent mode 1. Select the Silent mode check box from Sound settings.
87 Switch your phone to vibration mode In Sound settin gs tap Vibrate and choose the condition for vibration. If your phone is already in Silent mode , the vibration icon will appear in the status bar. Flipping to Turn off Ringtone In Sound settin gs tick the Turn to forbid phon e ring box.
88 Note : If you want to adjust the notification volume together with ringer volume, select the Use incoming ca ll volume for notifications check box. Enable the touch tones You can set your phone to play tones when touchi ng the keys of Dialer. Select the Audible touch tones check box from Sound settings.

91 5. Draw the pattern again and tap Confirm . 6. Press the Power Key to lock the screen. Unlocking the Screen with Your Pattern 1. Press the Power Key . 2. Draw the pattern you set to unlock the screen. If you make a mistake, your ph one will ask you to try again.
92 2. Tap PIN or Password . 3. Enter the numeric PIN or any pas sword you like. 4. Enter it again to confirm. Unlocking the Screen with Your PIN or Password 1. Press Power Key to wake up the phone. 2. Drag the icon to the right. 3. Enter the PIN or password y ou set.
93 3. Tap Change SIM/RUIM PIN. 4. Enter the old PIN and tap OK . 5. Enter your new PIN and tap OK . 6. Enter the new PIN again and tap OK . Setting up Credential Storage This lets you select applic ations to access secure certificates and other cred entials.

95 Privacy: Reset to Factory Settings 1. Home Key > > Settings > Privacy. 2. Factory data reset. 3. Reset phone. 4. Erase everything. Managing Applications and Their Settings Viewing Your Phone’s Applications Tap Home Key > > Settings > Applications > Manage applications.
96 You can also install a non-Marketing application if you have allowed the installation of it. Make sure that you select an application developed for your device and processor type before installing it. 1. Tap Home Key > > Filer , and open the folder where the application you want to install is.

Als u nog geen ZTE Blade heb gekocht dan nu is een goed moment om kennis te maken met de basisgegevens van het product. Eerst kijk dan naar de eerste pagina\'s van de handleiding, die je hierboven vindt. Je moet daar de belangrijkste technische gegevens ZTE Blade vinden. Op dit manier kan je controleren of het apparaat aan jouw behoeften voldoet. Op de volgende pagina's van de handleiding ZTE Blade leer je over alle kenmerken van het product en krijg je informatie over de werking. De informatie die je over ZTE Blade krijgt, zal je zeker helpen om een besluit over de aankoop te nemen.
In een situatie waarin je al een beziter van ZTE Blade bent, maar toch heb je de instructies niet gelezen, moet je het doen voor de hierboven beschreven redenen.
