1 INTR ODUCTION The B OXLIGHT ® XD -10m™ digital projector is specifically designed for the mobile pr esenter . It generates crisp, clear images using Digit al Light Processing ™ (DLP) techn ology , and featu res an M1-DA type DVI connecto r for easy , buil t-in digital/a nalog and USB connectivity .

5 SETTING UP THE PR OJECTOR 1 Place the pr ojector on a flat surface. • The pr ojector must be within 10 feet (3 m) of your power source a nd within 6 feet (1.8 m) of your computer . • If you want to project fr om behind a translucent screen, set up the pr ojector behind your scre en.
6 Setti ng up the Pr ojector NO TE : Befor e you continue , mak e sure the pr ojector and all other equipment is turned o ff. If you’ re connecting a computer , mak e sure the distance betw een it and the pr ojector is 6 f eet or less.
7 Connecting a Computer The pr ojector ships with an analog computer cable. If your com- puter has a digi tal output, yo u can order the option al digita l com- puter cable. Using a digit al source generates the highest quality and brightest im age possible.
8 Setti ng up the Pr ojector Conne cting a V ideo Pl a yer If your video player uses a r ound, one-pr ong composite video connector, use the composite video cable. If your video player uses a r ound, four -prong S-video connector , use the S-video cable.
9 P o wering up the Pr ojector and Adjustin g the Ima ge NO TE : Always use the po w er cord that shipped with the pr ojector . 1 Remove the lens c ap. 2 Plug the power cord into the back of the projector, then plug it into your electrical outlet. A surg e-prot ected power strip is re commended.

11 USING THE PR OJECTOR This section d escribes how to use and m ake adjustm ents to the pro jector . It also provides a refer e nce to the keypad and r emote buttons and the opti ons available f rom the on-scr een menus . Basic Imag e Adjustment 1 Make sure you have powered up your equipment in the right order (pag e 9) .
12 Usin g the Projector The projector is equipped with a self-locking, qu ick-release eleva- tor foot and button. T o raise the projector: 1 Pres s and hold the elevator button (Fig ure 9 ). 2 Raise the pro jector to the height you want, then r elease the button to lock the elevator foot into pos ition.
13 Using the Remote Cont r ol T o use the forward and back buttons on the remote to advance slides in PowerPoint, you must connect the USB mouse connector on the computer cable to the computer . See page 7 for details. Point the remote control at the pr ojection screen or at the front of the pr ojector (not at the computer).

18 Usin g the Projector Contra st The contrast contro ls the degree of dif fer ence between the lightest and darkest parts of the picture. Adjusting the co ntrast changes the amount of black and white in the image.
