Main Unit 1-3 1 Routine Maintenance Main Unit This section describes how to load paper into the paper draw ers of the main unit and to replace the toner cartridge. Loading P aper Paper Dr awers 1 and 2 hold approximat ely 1,500 sheets of paper (20 lb bond (80 g/m 2 )).
Main Unit 1-4 1 Routine Maintenance 1 Pull out the paper dra wer . 1.Press the butt on. 2.Pull out the paper dra wer . 2 Open the package of paper , and remove the paper stack. 3 Load the paper stack into the paper dr awer . Even out the edges of the paper stack.
Main Unit 1-5 1 Routine Maintenance Adjusting a P aper Draw er to Hold a Differ ent Paper Size If you want to load a differ ent paper size into P aper Drawer 3 or 4, follow the pr ocedure described below to adjust the paper drawer guides .

Load the paper stack against the right wall of the paper drawer . -Paper which has been r olled or curled must be straightened out prior to use.
Main Unit 1-9 1 Routine Maintenance Replacing the T oner Cartridge When there is only a small amount of toner r emaining inside the machine, the following message appears on the touch panel display . Y ou can continue printing, but at this time you should pur chase a new toner car tridge to have it available when needed .
Main Unit 1-10 1 Routine Maintenance 1 Press [ ]. If a screen with instructions on how to replace the toner cartridge appears on the touch panel display , this step is not necessary. 2 Push the toner replac ement cov er , as shown below . The toner replacement cov er is open.
Main Unit 1-11 1 Routine Maintenance 4 Remove the t oner car tridge, supporting it with b oth hands. Do not burn or throw used toner cartridges into open flames, as this may cause the toner r emaining inside the car tridges to ignite, resulting in burns or a fir e.

Align the end of the toner cartridge with the toner supply por t as shown by the arrow in the illustration below , and inser t the toner cartr idge straight into the machine. Only use toner cartridges intended for use in this machine.

When replacing the stamp cartridge, take care not to allow toner t o come into contact with your hands or clothing.
