2 Direct Print Allows for Pr inting without the Use of a Compu ter Connect your camera to the printer with a cable. Image selection and printing is operated from the camera. Various Printing Operations Can Be Performed* Multiple pictures can be printed at once.

4 Confirm You r Prin ter Mode l and Connec tion C able Type The required c onnection cable type w ill depend on the print er model. Prepare t he correct cable type after check ing the table below.

6 Connec ting the Camera to th e Printe r Connect the camera to the printer. For instructions on printer and camera operation methods, refer to their respective user guides. Confirm the appropriate connection cable in the table on page 4. Set one of th e following into the camera.
7 Confirm that one of the follow ing icons is displayed in the camera's L CD monitor. • If one of the afo remen tioned icons do es not a ppear, th e conne cted pri nter cann ot be u sed. • When th e printer is re ady for printin g, the but ton light s in blue.
8 Disconnec ting the Camera and th e Printe r Detach the cable from the printer. Pull out the cable w hile holding the connect or plug. Do not pull out by the cable. Turn the ca mera’s power off. Detach the cable from the camera. Pull out the cable w hile holding the connect or plug.
9 Printing Easy Prin t You can print images by pressing only one button after connecting the camera to the printer. Print after Changing t he Print Settings You can change the print s ettings before printing. 1 Make sure that displays in the upper left corner of the LCD monitor.
10 2 Displa y the images you wish to print and press the SET butt on. The print order screen appears. 3 Select print s ettings as req uired. 4 Select [Print] and press the SET button. If you press the MENU button, the display will revert to the standard playback mode and print ing will not take place.

13 Setting the Pr inting Area (Trimming) You can specify which portion of an image gets printed. Please set the Print Style (Image, Borders and Date) before setting the trimming settings . If the print style is changed after having made the trimm ing settings, you must select the s ettings again.
14 2a Trim the ima ge. Chang ing the Siz e of the Trim ming Frame • P ress the zoom lever or the zoom button to adjust the size of the trimming fram e.

Changin g the S ize of the Trimm ing Fra me • Press the up and down buttons to adjust t he size of the trimming frame. • The t rimming frame can be changed to a minimum s election of approximately half the displayed im age (in width and height) or a maxim um selection that is virtually t he same size as the image.
16 • The t rimming setting only applies to one image. • The t rimming setting is canceled with the following operations. • When you set the trimming settings for another image. • When you close the P rint mode (when you turn the c amera power off, change the camera mode, or detach the connection cable).
17 Printing by Specifying t he Print Size (ID Photo Print) You can specify the print size and print portion of an image or a whole image as an ID photo*. * Im ages printe d with th e ID Phot o Print fu nction may n ot be allowe d as a formal certific ate photo.
18 3 Trim th e image to spec ify the prin t ar ea. See Step 2 of Setting the Pri nting Area (Trimming) ( p. 14 or p. 15) on how to trim the image. The trimming setting screen differs depending on the camera model. Follow the steps according to the screen that displays on your camera.
19 Printing Movies (Movie P rint) You can print movie frames selected automatically at fai rly regular intervals on a sheet of paper. • The print size setting onl y applies to one image. • The print size setting i s canceled with the following operations: • When you set the pri nt size settings for another image.
20 2 If nec essary, se t (Caption) to [ On] or [Off]. If you set (Caption) to [On], you can print the file number and the elapsed time of the frame at the same time. 3 Select [Print] and press the SET button. It may not be possible to play back or print movies shot with a different camera.
21 Printing with DPOF Print Settings For instructions on how to set DPOF print settings, please refer to the DPOF print settings section of the Camera Us er Guide . In this section, we will explain how to print sever al images already specified with DPOF print settings.
22 4 Select [O K] and press th e SET button. • The image will start t o print and, when it is com pletely finished, the display will revert to the standard playback mode. • If th e ME NU button is pressed, the display will revert to the Pri nt Order screen in Step 2 and printing will not take place.
23 Restarting Printing • In the print order menu, select [Resume] and press the SET button. The remaining images can be printed. • Printing cannot be restarted under t he following circumstanc es. • If the print settings hav e been chan ged before restarting.
24 List of Messages The following messages may appear on the camera’s LCD m onitor when an error occurs during a camera and printer connection. (Depending on the printer model, some m essages m ay not display.) • Please refer to the printer’s user guide for solutions.

28 Selecting Pr int Settings Setting the Date Pr inting Option Depending on the camera model, the screens that will be displayed will vary. M oreover, available set tings differ depending on the printer model (unavailable set tings will not appear in the menu).
29 Setting the Print Effect This function uses t he camera’s s hooting information to opt imize the image data, yielding high quali ty prints. You can select the following print effects. Setting the Number of Copies On Uses th e came ra’s shoo ting info rmatio n to del iver bea utiful prints .
30 Setting the P rinting Area (Trimming) You can s pecify a portion of t he image for pr inting. Please set [Paper Settings] (p. 34) before setting the t rimming settings. If the print style is changed aft er having made the trimming settings, you must select the settings again.

36 • When using PictBridge compliant Bubble Jet Printers (PIXMA s eries/SEL PHY DS se ries), selec ting "4" x 6"" in Step 2 will allow you t o specify the following layout settings.
37 Printing with DPOF Print Settings For instructions on how to set DPOF print settings, please refer to the DPOF print settings section of the Camera Us er Guide . In this section, w e will explain how to print several images already specified with DPOF print settings.

39 Cancel Printing • To cancel printing bet ween images printed, press the SET button. A confirmation dialog appears. Select [OK] and press the SET button. The printer will st op printing the current image and eject the paper. Restarting Printing • Select [Resume] and press the SET button.
40 List of Messages The following mess ages may appear on t he camera LCD monitor if an error occ urs during a camera and pr inter connec tion. (Depending on the printer, some messag es may not appear.) • Please refer to the printer’s user guide for the appropriate remedies.

42 Print error Check that the correct pap er size is select ed. If this error m essage appears e ven whe n the co rrect paper size is set, tu rn off the printe r, then tur n it on again .
43 Printing After this step, follow the procedures in the section Printing with SELPHY CP series Print ers (p. 9) to print your images. However, please note that some menus and precautions differ, as listed below. See pa ges 10 and 22. 1 Make sure that displays in the upper left corner of the LCD monitor.
