DESK MOUNT INSTR UCTIONS Follo w these instructions to place the phone on a desk or table top using the supplied brack et. 1. Plug one end of the long flat tele- phone line cord into the jack mark ed TEL LINE located on the back of the telephone. Route the cord thr ough the narr ow gr oo ve and plug the other end into the telephone wall jack.
W ALL MOUNTING INSTR UCTIONS The phone unit ma y be mounted on a standard wall plate. The mounting brack et will mount on the telephone with the wide end of the brack et towar ds the bottom of the phone. 1. Plug one end of the flat telephone line cord into the jack mark ed TEL LINE located on the back of the telephone.

V OICE MAIL NUMBER Allows y ou to store an access n umber for quick message r etrieval. Enter the digits of the access number . Press the DO WN ARR O W to sa ve inf ormation and mov e to the next menu selection. EASY MODE (toggle) EASY mode allows the phone opera- tions to be simplified.
FEA TURES Clarity P o w er T echnology With the Clarity P ower f eature the high frequency sounds ar e amplified mor e than the low fr equency sounds so that wor ds ar e not just louder , but clearer and easier to understand.
Boost function will be by default ON – ev er y time a call star ts, the Boost func- tion is active. The Boost function will default to ON ev er y time the phone hangs up , regardless of the pr evious state of the button.
15 All the backlight k eypad functions ar e valid in either position of the nitelite switch. Hold This featur e allows y ou to put a call on hold in order to transf er the call to another extension, or hav e a private conv ersation that y ou do not want the person on the other end of the call to hear .
Flash Flash is a featur e that enables you to answ er a call if you ha v e call waiting. Please contact y our local telephone compan y for information on subscribing to this featur e . Pressing the FLASH but- ton while you ar e ha ving a phone con- versation will pick up the second con- versation and place the first call on hold.
CALLER ID (CID) AND PHONEBOOK OPERA TIONS: There ar e six buttons that contr ol the CID and PhoneBook operations. Enter/Dial: (ENTER BUTT ON) W orks in CID and PhoneBook mode. Pressing this button in CID or the PhoneBook mode will dial the number displa y ed.
18 Option Function: This is a softwar e function that lets the user to add a pr e-pr ogrammed ar ea code and/or long distance code onto a sev en (7) or ten (10) digit CID number if necessary to dial.
Viewing Caller Inf ormation During Incoming Calls When an incoming call is r eceived, the screen will displa y: A) the name, B) number , D) date and T) time . OR PRIV A TE will appear if the name and/or number of the caller ar e block ed. OR UNK O WN will appear if the name and/or number of the incoming call ar e not a vailable.
The HANDSET icon will appear on the LCD to indicate phone is off hook. Using the Option Function This featur e allows y ou to add a long distance access code and/or ar ea code to numbers or delete an ar ea code from a n umber stored in the Caller ID Memor y , thus allowing y ou to dial directl y fr om the Caller ID Memor y .
21 T o delete all entries: 1. Press and hold the DEL button f or four (4) seconds. 2. DELETE ALL will appear on the screen. 3. Press DEL again to confirm action.
T o Retrie v e Messag es: Pick up the handset and pr ess the flash- ing ENTER k ey . The number will auto- matically dial the pr eviousl y entered V oice Mail access number . The blue LED will be automatically turned off once messages ha v e been accessed.
Using the Dial P ad to Enter Letters When pr ompted to enter a name select the appr opriate letter using the digits on the dial pad. Pr essing the k ey once will cause the first letter to appear ; (f or instance, for entering “E” y ou would press “3” twice).
T o dial fr om the Emergency Memor y button follo w one of the two sequences: 1. Press desir ed memor y button, the number will be displa y ed on the screen. Lift handset to dial. 2. Lift handset, press the desir ed memor y button. The number will dial.
25 Hands Fr ee Dialing The telephone can be dialed without lifting the handset or pr essing the HEADSET button (if a headset is plugged in). This featur e allows y ou to dial the phone number and cor rect mis- tak es with the DEL button rather than hanging up and r edialing.
