2 Connecting the DWL-2210AP to Y our Network There are two methods of powering the DWL-2210AP . The power adapter can plug directly into the unit or plug into the PoE (Power over Ethernet) base unit. T o connect power directly to the DWL-2210AP , please follow the steps on this p age.
3 Connecting the DWL-2210AP to Y our Network (continued) Connecting PoE (Power over Ethernet) to the DWL-2210AP • Step 1 : Connect one end of an Ethernet cable (included with your package) to the LAN port on the DWL-2210AP and the other end of the Ethernet cable to the port labeled P+DA T A OUT on the PoE base unit.
4 When you have completed the steps in this Quick Installation Guide, your connected network should look similar to this: Connecting the DWL-2210AP to Y our Network (continued).
5 Attach the wireless antenna to this connector . Pressing this button restores the Access Point to its original factory default settings. LAN Port Receptor Reset Button Antenna Connector Connects to a computer , a switch, router , or PoE base unit using an Ethernet cable.
6 The KickStart Wizard is used to discover and identify DWL-2210AP Access Points on a network with a DHCP server . KickS tart will not discover any other devices.
7 Click Administration Console KickS tart will display the Access Point(s) on your network. If necessary , click Back to rescan the network. Click Next Click OK The DWL-2210AP login screen will appear . T ype admin in the User name and Password fields.
8 The DWL-2210AP W eb-management interface will appear . Please refer to the user manual located on the CD-ROM for det ails on configuring the DWL-2210AP .
9 Using a Static IP Address to Connect to the DWL-2210AP T o assign a S tatic IP Address on the computer that you are using to configure the DWL-2210AP , follow the steps for the appropriate operating.
10 Go to Start > Settings > Network and Dial- up Connections . Double-click on the Local Area Connection associated with the Network Adapter installed on your system and select Properties . Click Properties Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Select Use the following IP address Click OK Windows 2000: IP address: 192.
11 Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Double-click on the Local Area Connection associated with the Network Adapter installed on your system > select Properties Click Properties Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Select Specify IP Address Click OK Windows Me & 98SE: IP address: 192.
12 Go to the Apple Menu and Select System Preferences. Select Built in Ethernet from the Show pull-down menu Click on Apply Now Select Manually in the Configuration pull-down menu Mac OS X: IP address: 192.168.0.28 Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 Click on Network Input a static IP address in the same range as the DWL-2210AP’s IP address of 192.
13 Using a Static IP Address to Connect to the DWL-2210AP Click OK The DWL-2210AP login screen will appear . T ype admin in the user name and password fields. T ype http://192.168.0.50 in the address bar and hit Enter or Return. Open up your Web browser .
14 Using a Static IP Address to Connect to the DWL-2210AP The Web-management interface screen will appear . Click Advanced Click Ethernet.
