1 I MPORT A NT S AFETY I NSTRUCTIONS SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS This manual contains importa nt safety and operating inst ructions concerning the installation and operation of the Liebert NX Remote Monitoring Pane l (RMP). R ead all safety, i nstallation and operat- ing instructions befo re beginning installation .
Introd uction 2 1.0 I NTRODUCTION The Liebert NX Remote Monitoring Panel (RMP) is designed as a remote user interface to monitor Liebert NX Uninterruptible Power Systems. The RM P monochrome liquid cr ystal di splay measures 122 x 92mm (4.8 x 3.6 inches).

Installation 4 2.0 I NST ALLATION 2.1 Preliminary checks Before beginning to install the RMP, v erify that the equipment ha s reached site in its own pack aging and in good general condition. Pl ease notify immedi ately the shipper, E merson Network Po wer and your local Liebert rep res entative of any damage.
Installation 5 Figure 4 Communication cable connection 2.5 Mounting the RMP on Drywall To hang the RMP on drywall o r similar surface: 1. Dri ll four holes ( 6mm-by-26mm) in the w all, spacing them as show n in Figure 5 . 2. Insert the four factory-supplied , plastic anchors into the holes.

Installation 7 Connect the RS-485 communi cation cable to the Lie bert NX as shown in Figure 7 . Figure 7 RS-485 cable connection to Liebert NX Connect the other end of the RS-485 sign al cable to the X4 slot on the monitor board. The monitor board is inside the UPS front door.
Operation 8 3.0 O PERATION 3.1 St artup and Reset The RMP will start as soon as the power supply is connected. The LCD will illuminate without any data display ed; the LEDs will light up yellow. After 20 seconds, all LEDs will turn off and the LCD will show the op ening screen, shown in Figure 8 , for 10 seconds.

Operation 10 Figure 12 Communication with UPS failed If the RMP is functioning properly and the connection with UPS is correct, but the UPS does not sup- port the communication f unction with RMP, then the RMP wi ll display a the screen shown in Figure 13 to report “Firmware is not Compatible with UPS.
Operation 11 3.2 LED Mimic Power Flow The LEDs mounted on the mimic flow chart repres ent the various power paths and current UPS oper- ational status.
Operation 12 3.4 Direct Access Push Buttons—Keys The NX Remote Monitoring Panel has one direct access push button: Silence ON/OFF . The Silence ON/OFF button is a toggle ty pe buzzer mute; any new fault re-enables the buzzer.

Operation 14 3.6 Det ailed Descrip tion of Menu Items The description that follows refers to the graphic LCD monitor window shown on Figure 14 . UPS System Window: This fixed-pane window displays current time and date and identifies the UPS, its configuration and its status.
Operation 15 Current Record Window Keeps a log the eve nts that resulted in the current mode of operation. Ignores transient conditions that have been resolved . Use “page” (F1) and up / down arrow to read the events. For a complete history log, refer to the Records tab of the Me nu and Data Window.

Operation 17 Inverter Asynchronous This alarm is triggered by an in verter softwa re routine when the inverter and bypass waveforms are misaligned by more than 6 degrees in phase. This ala rm resets automatically once the condition is no longer true .
Operation 18 Bypass Phase Reversed The phase sequence direction of bypass voltage is reversed. Normally, the phase of phase B lags 120 deg r ees behind phase A, and the phase of phase C lags 120 degrees b ehind phase B.
Operation 19 UPS Shutdown UPS Shutdown, output power-down Check UPS Output Inverter off during normal startup (diagno stics information only) Generator Connected Generator active signal received. Source share mode may be activate d pending UPS settings.
Operation 20 3.8 Prompt (Popup) Windows The prompt window is displayed duri ng the operation of the system to alert the user to certain condi- tions and / or to require user confirmation of a command.
