1 1 Introduction Welcome to the bright ne w world of HUAWEI MediaPa d 10 FHD (HUAWEI MediaPad for short). With HUAWEI MediaPad, you can: > Surf the Internet at lightening-fast speeds. > Take photos and record videos anytime anywh ere. > Enjoy the latest and hottest movies.
2 2 Getting Started Your HUAWEI MediaPad at a Glance 1 Microphone 2 Card slot.

4 2. Insert the SIM card with its gold conta cts facing up, a s indicated in the preceding figure. Push t he card inward until it clicks into place. HUAWEI MediaPad is only compatible with standard SIM cards, whose dimensions are 0.76 mm x 15 mm x 25 mm.
5 Battery Usage Precautions > If HUAWEI Me diaPad has not been u sed for a long time or the battery powe r is extremely low, you may not be able to power it on i mmediately after you begin charging the ba ttery. This is normal. Al low the battery to charge for a few minut es before attemptin g to power your HUAWEI MediaPad on.
6 If HUAWEI Medi aPad has not b een used for a long time or the battery l evel is low, you may not be abl e to power it on immediately af ter you start charg ing the battery. A llow the batter y to charge for a few minutes before attempt ing to use it.
7 Unlocking the Screen HUAWEI MediaPad supports multiple screen unlock methods. The default unlock method is used here as an example to illustrate how t o unlock the screen. 1. Press the Power key to wake up the screen. 2. Drag to the right until it reaches .
8 > When the screen lock i s set to 2D unlock mode, flick left or ri ght in the clock ar ea on a locked screen to switch to the Music+ player. > You can drag to the shortcut icons on the top, left, or bottom to quickly access the correspond ing applications.
9 1 View recent and running applica tions. 2 Return to the Home screen. 3 Return to the previous screen. 4 Display the time, Wi-Fi connection status, signa l strength, batter y level, and more. Touch the clock to open the no tification panel. 5 Hide the operation bar.
10 Notification and Status Icons The notification ba r displays notifi cations and icons to inform you of HUAWEI MediaPad's status. Airplane mode Bluetooth on GPS in use Charging Battery full Bat.
11 > When is displayed, charge your HUAWEI MediaPad as soon as possible; otherwise it will automatically power off soon. > When your storage space is full, is displayed. Delete some files or applicati ons; otherwise you will not be able to install or run applications on HUAWEI MediaPad.
12 Operations on the Home Screen > To open an application, fr om the Home screen, to uch the application icon. > To switch between screens, fro m the Home screen, flick left or right.
13 Tilt Sensor A tilt sensor is a built-in system that automatically adjusts the display orientation when you rotate th e device. If your rotate HUAWEI MediaPad when browsing a web page, viewing an image, or composing a messag e, the orientation of your screen will change to the landscape or portrait view automa tically.
14 After connecting to a dock, HUAWEI MediaPad is transformed into a lapt op computer wi th a physical keyboard. You can conveniently o perate HUAWEI MediaPad and connect it to o ther device s through th e ports on the dock. For details about how to install and use the dock, see the user guide came with it.
15 3 Text Input Bringing Up and Hiding the Onscreen Keyboard HUAWEI MediaPadis pre-install ed with multiple text input methods. You can convenient ly enter text using the onscreen keyboard. > To bring up the onscreen keyboa rd, touch a text input field.
16 Editing Text You can copy, cu t, and paste t ext using the on screen keyboard. 1. To edit text, touch and ho ld the text fie ld until two blue cursors appear. 2. Drag the cursors to select th e text you want to edit. 3. Touch Select all , Copy , or Cut to perform t he corresponding operation.

Huawei Input Method 4 Open the Input options menu, where you can select the input language or configure the Android input met hod settings, for example, enable or disable auto-capitalization and sound on keypress.

20 Adding Widgets to the Home Screen You can add widgets, such as the calendar, music pla yer, and weather clock to the Home screen . 1. Touch in the upper right corner of the screen. 2. Touch and hold a widget and drag it to the desired position, and the n release it.
21 Adding a Home Screen Adding Home screens enables you to put more applications and widgets on the Home screen, helping you better organize your applications. 1. Touch and hold a blank area on the Home screen. 2. From the displayed options menu, choose Manage screens .

25 5 Intern et Connectio n HUAWEI MediaPad brings you into a new age of wireless Internet surfi ng. Let's take a look at how this works. Wi-Fi Network A Wi-Fi network is a wireless local area network. Wi-Fi devices can maintain a high-spe ed connection to the Wi-Fi network even when they ar e moving.
26 > For an encrypted Wi-Fi network, enter the password when prompted. When HUAWEI MediaPad is con nected to a Wi-Fi netwo rk, you can touch its name to view con nection details, such as the network speed, e ncryption mode, and IP address.

31 6 Browser The browser lets you su rf the web and browse web pages. Stay on the ball with real-time news and informa tion using your browser. Staying connect ed and browsing the Internet has never been easier. Browsing Web Pages From the Home screen, touch to launch the browser.
32 Downloading a File You can download files, images, and even applications from web pages. The downloaded files will be saved in your HUAWEI MediaPad's interna l memory or the microSD card. For example, to downlo ad an image from a web page, touch and hold the i mage, and choose Save image fro m the displayed options menu.
33 Setting Your Home Page You can set any web page as the home page. 1. From the Home screen, tou c h to launch the browser. 2. Select > Settings > General .
34 7 Sharing Data HUAWEI MediaPad allows you to share files in a n umber of ways. Sharing data anytime anywhe re means family and friends can share your exper i ences and are always by your side.
35 Sharing Files Using Wi-Fi Direct You can share photos, videos, songs, and other fil es with your friends using Wi-Fi Dir ect. 1. From the Home screen, tou c h . 2. Touch and hold the file you want to share. 3. From the displayed options menu, touch Share > Wi- Fi .
36 Receiving Files Using Bluetooth 1. From the Home screen, tou c h > Bluetooth , and turn on Bluetooth . 2. After the connect ed Bluetooth device send s a file, a message is displayed on HUAWEI MediaPad's notification bar. 3. Open the notification, an d touch Accept from the displayed dialog box to receive the file.
37 Touch to open DLNA. To get he lp inform ation, touc h > Help . Connecting to a Computer You can connect HUAWEI MediaPad to a computer to exchange data. 1. Connect HUAWEI MediaPad's multifunctional port to the computer's USB port using the provided USB cable.
38 HUAWEI MediaPad. You can then vi ew files or exchange data. When you connect t o the computer for the first time, a driver installation wizard will be displayed on the computer. F ollow the wiza rd to install the driver. If no wizard is displayed, double-click the icon corresponding t o HUAWEI MediaPad in My Computer to start the i nstallati on.
39 You can also synch ronize data between HUA WEI MediaPad and email and social netwo rking accounts. Adding an Account HUAWEI MediaPad enables to you add multip le accounts, such as email accounts. After adding an account, yo u can synchronize data between the accoun t and the server.
40 3. Touch > Remove account > Remove account . Synchronizing an Account with Its Server You can synchronize dat a between accounts and their servers. The data you can synchron ize varies with the account service provider. Generally spe aking, you can synchronize emails, contacts, and e v ents.
41 8 Contacts Forget about lu gging around business card holders. With HUAWEI MediaPad, you can store your family and fr iends' contact details ea sily. In addition, its improved import and export functions let you conveniently recover contacts on different devices.
42 If you have not set up the account you want to synchronize with on HUAWEI MediaP ad, touch ADD ACCOUNT from the Accounts & sync screen, and follow the onscreen instructions to set up the accoun t. After the account is set up, HUAWEI MediaPad auto matically synchronizes with it.
43 4. Touch Add contact , and select t he contact you want to merge with th e first contact. You can touch next to a joint contact to delete it. Searching For a Contact HUAWEI MediaPad enables you to f ind a contact by entering any contact information, su ch as the phone number or name.

56 Sharing Photos and Videos You can share photos and videos via Bluetooth, email, and more. 1. From the Home screen, touch to open the gallery. 2. Touch and hold the photo, video, or folder until is displayed at the top of the screen. 3. Touch , and choose how you want to share the selected file or folder, for example, using Bluet ooth or DLNA.
