4 – English INTR ODUCTION Dear customer! Cong ratulations on y our choice to buy a Husqv ar na product! Husqvarna is based on a tradition that dates bac k to 1689, when the Swedish King Karl XI ordered the construction of a factory on the banks of the Huskvarna River , f or production of muskets .

8 – English GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS Chec k that the guard is undamaged and not crac ked. Replace the guard if it has been e xposed to impact or is crack ed. Alwa ys use the recommended guard f or the cutting attachment you are using. See chapter on T echnical data.
English – 9 GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS If the muffler on y our machine is fitted with a spar k arrestor mesh this must be cleaned regularly . A block ed mesh will cause the engine to ov erheat and may lead to serious damage. Loc king nut A locking n ut is used to secure some types of cutting attachment.
10 – English GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS K eep the teeth of the blade correctly sharpened! Follo w our instructions and use the recommended file gauge. An incorrectly shar pened or damaged b lade increases the r isk of accidents. Check the cutting attachment f or damage or crac ks.
English – 11 ASSEMBL Y Fitting the handlebar • Remov e the screw at the rear of the throttle handle . • Slide the throttle handle onto the right side of the handlebar , (see diagram). • Align the screw hole in the throttle handle with the hole in the handlebar .
12 – English ASSEMBL Y Fitting a blade guar d, grass blade and grass cutter • Hook the blade guard/combination guard (A) onto the fitting on the shaft and secure with the bolt. CA UTION! Use the recommended b lade guard. See the T echnical data section.
English – 13 ASSEMBL Y Fitting other guar ds and cutting attachments • Fit the trimmer guard/combination guard (A) intended for use with the trimmer head/plastic blades. Hook the guard onto the fitting on the shaft and secure it with the bolt (L).
14 – English FUEL HANDLING Fuel safety Ne ver star t the machine: 1 If you ha ve spilt fuel on it. Wipe off the spillage and allow remaining fuel to e vaporate . 2 If you ha ve spilt fuel on y ourself or your clothes , change your clothes . W ash any part of your body that has come in contact with fuel.
English – 15 FUEL HANDLING Mixing • Alwa ys mix the gasoline and oil in a clean container intended f or fuel. • Alwa ys star t by filling half the amount of the gasoline to be used. Then add the entire amount of oil. Mix (shake) the fuel mixture.
16 – English ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Chec k before starting • Check the b lade to ensure that no cracks ha ve f ormed at the bottom of the teeth or by the centre hole .
English – 17 ST AR TING AND ST OPPING CA UTION! Do not pull the star ter cord all the way out and do not let go of the star ter handle when the cord is fully e xtended. This can damage the machine. CA UTION! Do not put any par t of y our body in marked area.

English – 19 W ORKING TECHNIQUES Grass c learing using a grass blade • Grass b lades and grass cutters must not be used on woody stems. • A grass b lade is used for all types of tall or coarse g rass.

English – 21 MAINTENANCE Fine adjustment of the idle speed T Adjust the idle speed using the idle adjustment screw T , if it is necessar y to readjust. First tur n the idle adjustment screw T clockwise until the cutting attachment starts to rotate. Then turn the screw anticlockwise until the cutting attachment stops.
22 – English MAINTENANCE Muffler CA UTION! Some mufflers are fitted with a catalytic conv er ter . See chapter on T echnical data to see whether y our machine is fitted with a catalytic conv er ter . The muffler is designed to reduce the noise le vel and to direct the e xhaust gases awa y from the operator .
English – 23 MAINTENANCE Air filter The air filter must be regularly cleaned to remov e dust and dir t in order to av oid: • Carburettor malfunctions • Star ting problems • Loss of engine power • Unnecessar y wear to engine parts • Excessive fuel consumption.
