Simply connect to AC mains via the include d plug pack, which is supp lied with a rea dy to conne ct 10m long cable.
9 KEY FEA TURES OF THE DIGITAL MONITORING CENTRE : ONLINE A CCESS . Our s ecure, user-friendly web interface allow s you to customize y our alarm sy stem, access and view its status and logs from any whe re, at anytime.
10 You will know when the syste m is in “shutdow n m ode” as yo u will hear 4 beep s from both t he main control un it and external sire n when ever you try to arm/disarm the sy stem.

13 Insta llati on Planning the Installation To get the best possible protection f rom your W atchguar d Digital alarm system, it i s imperative that y ou follow the following guidel ines on w here to place the system components. Below is a diagram of where we suggest you should place the Mai n Control Unit, the External Sire n and the Detector s.

15 Step 1: Install The M ain Control Unit The M ain Control Unit re quires both AC pow er and a pho ne line to be plugged in. Therefore, it should be located as close as possible to a pow er and ph one outlet and preferably mounted o ut of sight. For maximum wirele ss range, mount the unit at a hei ght of 1.
16 Step 2: Changing Your System From The Home To The Business or Basic Plans: You r W atchgua rd Digital is pre-p rogrammed at the factory on the Home Plan. If you wish to change to the Business or Basic Plans, please follo w the proce dure below . TO CHANGE BETW EEN HOME, BUSINES S & BAS IC PLANS 1.
17 Step 3: Install the Wi reless PIR Detec tors Insta lling the Wire less PIR D ete ctors 1. On then rear of each detector is a sticker indicatin g the pre- programmed zo ne number. Starting w ith Zone 1, pow er up the detector by removing the plastic insulator u nder one the batteries.

19 About The Wirele ss Pass ive In frared Dete ctor (PIR W) The detect or is a high qual ity infrared m ovement detector , which is battery opera ted and communicates with the W atchguard Digital alarm sy stem via radio frequency (RF) transmission.
20 The detecto r is not waterproo f and is designed for ind oor use only . 1. Firstly, the mounting bracket must be fixed to the wall using th e self-tapping screw.
21 Powering the De tect or W hen you f irst remove the de tector f rom the box it is not pow ered, althou gh the batterie s are in place. To turn the detector on − Pull the piece of plastic out from beneat h one of the battery terminals (as seen in figure 3 ).

26 Step 4: Installing The External Siren The External S iren shou ld be mounted at t he f ront or the f ront side of the buildi ng so as to provide maximum visua l de terrent and to allow neighbours to identify tha t it is y our system that has bee n activated.
27 Installing the Siren Unit Figure 10 1. Drill mounting holes (7mm diameter, 25mm minimum in depth) into the chosen wall. 2. If a m asonry wall, use the green star plugs. Press each one into the 4 main mounting holes. 3. Make a 12mm hole and feed the 10m of low voltage p ower cable through the w all and up into the ceili ng for power.

Record this number somew here safe as it is needed to log on to the w ebsite in the future. Enter an accou nt name that will be u sed to refer to your a ccount if you e ver speak to a customer service ope rator.

32 Step D - Login to the Secur eNe t Digita l Monitoring C entre Once you ha ve crea ted you r SecureN et account you will be automatically logged into the DIGITAL MONITORING CENTRE. Howeve r, when yo u next want to access your accoun t, yo u will nee d to login.
33 Step E- Set Up My Sens ors A sensor or de tector is what trigger s an alarm to tell yo u when there is a problem. The y can includ e: − Movement se nsors − Vibration se nsors − Reed swi tches (for doors or win dows) − Smoke detectors − Panic buttons or m edical al arms.
34 Step G- Te st Your Acc ount Once you have re gistered and config ured y our account onlin e, it’s a good idea to test it out to make sure every thing is wo rking correctly . Read these sections in full before starting y our test and dou ble check y our contact pho ne numbers are corr ect.

37 Opera tion Mas ter Key switch On Main Control Unit The master key switch is located on the M ain Control Unit. The master ke y switch allow s yo u to completely disable the alarm system, and is used primarily for transportation purpose s so as not t o flatten the internal back-up battery unnece ssarily .
38 Below y ou wi ll f ind an e xplanation of the different ope rational modes of y our W atchg uard Digital Alarm and w hen it is approp riate to use them AWAY Mode This mode activates all w ireless detectors Wh en to use W hen leaving the bu ilding or pre mise, i.
39 Optional Wi reless Key pad: Enter the building , and withi n 30 seconds go to the keypad and press the ‘ # ‘ key. Then en ter your 4 digit pin code f ollowe d by th e number 2 button. No w the sy stem will disarm. Indications The siren will beep twice and the strob e will flash twice.
40 Remote Control Functions Press Button 1 A WA Y mode Press once to arm the sy stem in normal A WA Y mode. The intern al screamer will be ep at 1-second in tervals for the 30- second e xit delay a nd the outside sire n will beep once. The strobe will flash once.
41 Using the DIP switch simply follow the steps, whe n complete ensu re all switche s are left in the off position. For ea se of programming ensure that there is no movement in front of any of the detectors unless ot herwise requ ired.
42 TO DELE TE ALL REM OTES 1. Set dipswitches 1 and 2 to on. 2. Press the DELETE button. 3. Now all the remotes that you w ish to keep must be add ed back in. Follow the procedur e above To Add a New Remote. TO AD D A DETEC TOR 1. Set the dipsw itch to on for the zone y ou wish to add.

44 Zone Feature Programming Zone Fea ture Programming can be use d to set all the different combinations o f alarm modes. Simply put the correspondi ng zones d ipswitch up, and press the tamper to change the features.
45 Wire less Siren A uto Test Use this mode to test that the w ireless siren is op erating correctly WIRELESS SIR EN A UTO TEST 1. Set dipswitches 1 and 5 to on. 2. The strobe on the siren wil l f lash every 5 secon ds, and the main unit will b eep out the signa l strength every 5 secon ds.
46 The complete sy stem should be tested a t regular interva ls. W e suggest testing it once every fortnight or at least once per month. Real Time Clock batter y You r W at chgua rd Digital is equipped with a real ti me cl ock f or logging alarm eve nts and billing inf ormation.
47 The Remote Control The batterie s in the remote control w ill need to be rep laced on ce every 1 to 3 y ears, dependi ng on usage . You are able to recogni se when th e batteries ar e low by the remote control ran ge reducing . Below describe s how to repla ce the batteries in the r emote control.
48 Clea ning the Pyro Se nsor The py r o sensor m ust be clean at all times f or optimum performance. If t he py ro sensor appear s to have any dust, dirt or fingerprin ts on it, then it should be cleaned. 1. To clean the py ro, use a sof t cotton cloth (no t a tissue), which has be en dampened w ith Methy lated Spirits (Alco hol).

De-activate your system by using your r emote control or by enterin g you r PIN into the optiona l wireless key pad.
