Controls and operation 2 - 1 2 Controls and operation Steering wheel c ontr ols (where fitted) Four audio s ystem control switches ar e situated on t he left-ha nd side of the steering wheel . Duplicating the functions of buttons on the audio p anel, these provide finger-tip control of audio, telepho ne and voice activation systems whilst drivin g.
2 - 2 Controls and operation Radio operation Reception FM reception offers the advantages of low noise interf erence, minimal distorti on, wi de dy na mi c r an ge , e xt en de d f re qu en cy response , and is usuall y broadcas t in stereo.
Controls and operation 2 - 3 DSP Setting Seating Positio ns With a mode selected , adjust th e volume control knob to the desired le vel. After a pproximate ly five seconds th e audio syste m will retu rn to normal volume control mode.

2 - 6 Controls and operation Programme type (PTY) This has t wo functions: To displa y current station p rogramme type and t o select a programm e type an d re-tune t o it. Moment arily pr ess the PTY button to display the curre nt s tation programm e type.
Controls and operation 2 - 7 RBDS trouble-shooting guide Incorrect response from RBDS Reason and rectification Radio does not display progr amme name . Check that RBDS is turned on by pre ssing and hol ding the TA butt on until the display co nfirms RBDS ON .

Controls and operation 2 - 9 Seek up and down This contr ol selects seeking of track s up or down. Momentar ily press t he right - hand but ton to skip t o the ne xt track. Repeate d pressing wil l select f urther tracks. The lef t-hand butt on returns to the beginn ing of the c urrent tr ack.
2 - 10 Controls and operation MiniDisc (MD) oper ation The audio display will in dicate which function has b een sele cted. Messag es include: Inserting a MD into th e MD a perture will start immediate play. The display will sho w LOADING , followed by TR-01 00' 00 " .

Controls and operation 2 - 13 Radio set up This fun ction ena bles the radio to be se t to user operating prefer ences. By select ing SET UP a nd using th e prese t buttons , the owner or Jaguar Deale r can adjus t certain ra dio functions.
2 - 14 Controls and operation Compact d isc (CD ) changer A CD chang er (whe re fitte d) is install ed in the l uggage compart ment and will acc ommodate up to six discs, each mounted in a tray . Caution: The 8 cm diameter discs and associated adaptors available in some countries must not be installed in the CD changer magazine.
Controls and operation 2 - 15 CD chan ger mode The audio display indicate s the CD and track being play ed, a nd CD stat us. Below is an example of the disp lay when playing track 1 from CD4. Other messages: CD1 LOADING – CD1 is being loaded. NO DISC – In the se lected p osition.
2 - 16 Controls and operation REP EAT Momentaril y press the REPEA T button to repeat the current CD track being played, R-ON E will be displa yed. To canc el, momentarily pr ess the REPEAT butt on aga in. Press and h old the REPEA T butto n fo r two secon ds to repea t the cur rent CD, R-A LL will be displayed.
System care 3 - 1 3S y s t e m c a r e Audio system care Caution: Ca re must be taken to av oid spilling or splashing drinks onto the audio system head. In the event of such an occurrence advise your Jaguar Dealer. Radio Do not use pe trol, solvent s or abrasiv e cleaners on the radio.
