8 EN DISC INFORMA TION DVD VIDEO Marks Sometimes marks are pr inted on a D VD disc and/or on its packaging to indicate inf or mation regarding the contents and functions of the disc. Check the marks indicating the contents and functions of the disc. Note, howe ver , that in some cases a disc may not include a mark e ven for a function it supports.
EN 9 DISC INFORMA TION Care And Handling Of Discs How to handle discs When handling a disc, do not touch the surface of the disc. Since discs are made of plastic, the y are easily damaged. If a disc gets dir ty , dusty , scratched or warped, the images and sound will not be pick ed up correctly , and such a disc may cause the unit to malfunction.

44 EN LI VE M EM O RY P L A YBACK Temporary recording for Li ve Memory (HDD deck only) This unit automatically records the channel being received, within the specified range of time, to the reserved space on the hard disc. The time range can be set for 30 minutes , 1 hour , and 3 hours.
EN 45 TIMER RECORDING Y ou can programme this unit to timer record as many as 16 programmes . With the a system, timer programming is g reatly simplified because each TV programme has a corresponding code number which your unit is ab le to recognise. Y ou can use the remote control to enter the a number .
46 EN TIMER RECORDING Weekly/Daily Recording Y ou can record programmes with one of the follo wing weekly/daily timer settings. For the HDD deck When you select a mode other than ONCE, the space on the hard disk drive is sa ved f or new reco rdings by o verwriting previous recordings.
EN 47 TIMER RECORDING Y ou can programme this unit to timer record as many as 16 programmes . If you do not know the a n umber for the prog ramme you wish to record, use th e f ollowing procedure to set your unit to timer record the programme. 1 Load a recordable disc if recording to D VD .

58 EN EDITING High Speed Dubbing (From HDD To DVD) It is possible to dub the original recordings and/o r play lists on the HDD deck to D VD discs. 60 EN EDITING Y ou can dub programmes from a camcorder or D V equipment connected to the unit with a D V cable. The unit’ s remote control allows you the limited control of the connected camcorder or D V equipment functions during dubbing.
