AMP section [MASTER LEVEL] knob This adjusts the volume. After using the [EXPRESSION/OVERDRIVE] knob to adjust the volume and distortion, use this knob to set the final volume.

Basic operation 7 Basic operation If the Drawbar 1 or 2 settings have been modified by MIDI control changes that wer e received, the “ MIDI Drawbar 1, 2 settings ” will be displayed following the “ EX PERCUSSION drawbar levels. ” Drawbar le vels and icons : Dr awbar le v els The figure above shows the drawbar levels.
Basic operation 8 2. About programs The CX-3 has 128 preset pr ograms (64 for Normal mode, and 64 for EX mode). In each mode, the programs ar e organized as banks A – H, with eight programs in each bank. How a pr ogram is organized A preset program consists of the following four types of settings.
Basic operation 9 3. While playing the keyboar d, pull out the v arious bars of the front panel Dra wbar 2 section to create the desired sound. If only the 8' (eight foot) drawbar of Drawbar 2 is pulled out, only the pitch of the key you play will be heard.
Basic operation 10 4. T ry selecting other programs. Use the [+] and [ – ] keys to select the bank, and the PROGRAM [1] – [8] keys to select the number . When you switch programs, the pr ogram parameters other than the drawbar settings will be reflected in the sound.
Basic operation 11 Dividing the ke yboard into left and right In Normal mode, you can divide the keyboard into left and right to use the Upper and Lower tone generator separately , as if you were playing a two-manual key- board. 1. Make sure that y ou are in Normal mode .

Basic operation 13 Ke y settings of the RO T AR Y section [ON] k ey This key switches the rotary speaker on/off. If this is off, pr essing the [F AST] key or [STOP] key will have no effect. ON (LED lit) : The rotary speaker will be on. [ST OP] k ey This key starts or stops the rotation of the r otary speaker ’ s rotor and horn.
Basic operation 14 6. Editing a program Y ou can edit the sound or name of the selected program. When editing a program, it is a good idea to start by selecting the program that is closest to the sound you want. This section provides several examples of editing that you can do easily .
Basic operation 15 P arameters unique to a combo organ The CX-3 has various parameters for simulating the distinctive sound of a combo organ. As an example, here ’ s how to edit the tone wheel, over - tone, key click level, and leakage level. 1. Press the [EDIT] key to enter Normal Edit mode or EX Edit mode.
Basic operation 16 ■ Changing the program name when y ou save Y ou can modify the program name when you save. If you wish to do so, use the following procedur e before step 1 of the W riting procedure . 1. Press the [EDIT] key to enter Normal Edit mode or EX Edit mode.
P arameters 17 P arameter s 1. Normal Edit mode / EX Edit mode When you press a PROGRAM [1] – [8] key in Normal Edit mode or EX Edit mode, the first parameter in the Group 1 – Gr oup 8 listed below will be selected directly . Group 1 Set the output level, tone wheel, and click level.
Parameter s 18 EX Mode Drawbar Level [0...8] This parameter is displayed in EX Edit mode. Drawbar 1 EX Drawbar and EX Percussion of Drawbar 2 Specify the level for the EX Drawbar and EX Percus- sion of Drawbar 1 and Drawbar 2.
P arameters 19 Group 4 Amp T ype [T ype 1, T ype 2, Pre Amp] Select the type of amp. T ype 1: A standard power ed amp for organ, produc- ing a mild and fat tone. T ype 2: This emphasizes the high range more than T ype 1, producing an uncolored tone. Pre Amp: The pre-amp will be used.
Parameter s 20 Rotor Up T ransit (Rotor Up T ransition) [0...99] Adjust the time over which the rotor r otation changes from slow to fast. Rotor Down T ransit (Rotor Down T ransition) [0...99] Adjust the time over which the rotor r otation changes from fast to fast.
P arameters 21 Wheel Brk Ctrl (Controller f or Wheel Brake) [Off, Pedal 1/(Pdl 1)*, P edal 2/(Pdl 2)*] Pedal 1: A pedal switch etc. connected to the rear panel ASSIGNABLE PEDAL/SW 1 jack can be used to turn the Global mode Group 7 “ Wheel Brake ” param- eter on/off.
