DE AL IN G WIT H H UM AND NO IS E Hum and noise may sometimes prove a challenge in complex, multi-channel audio systems. Not e these considerations to help prevent hum and noise problems: • Pow er all your system's audio component from AC outlets originating from the same cir cuit of your house wiring.
1 ST ANDBY BUTT ON : Press this button or the HTR 3 remote ’ s [ON] button to switch ON the T 775. The Standby LED indicator will turn from amber to blue and illuminate the VFD. P ressing the standby button again turns the unit back to standby mode.
10 VOL UME : Use this control to adjust the volume level of the main speakers. The default volume level is -20dB. The VOL UME k nob is also used to increment / decrement other adjustable paramet ers lik e T one Controls. 11 A SPEAKERS B : P ress either speaker A or B or both to select the set of speakers you wish to listen to .
1 DIGIT AL AUDIO IN ( OPTICAL 1-3, COA XIAL 1-3) : Connect to the optical or coaxial S/PDIF-format digital output of sources such as CD or DVD players, HD T V or satellite tuners and other components. Coaxial and Optical digital input association is congurable via the Setup Menu.

AB OU T THE ON -S CR EEN DI SP LA Y (O SD ) The T 775 receiver employs a simple, self-explanatory system of on-screen display “menus ” that will appear on the connected video monitor/T V . These are requir ed during the setup process (and are useful in day-to-day operation), so be sure to connect the monitor/T V befor e proceeding with setup.
DO LBY P RO LOG IC IIx Dolby Pro L ogic IIx processes both stereo and 5.1 signals into a 6.1 or 7.1 channel output. At Dolby Pr o Logic IIx, you can choose PLIIx Movie or PLIIx Music modes to tailor your listening experience to the source material .
DS P O PT IO NS The following sig nal processing parameters can be setup under the DSP (Digital Signal P rocessing) Options menu. LI P S YNC D EL A Y DSP Options has the feature ‘Lip Sync Delay ’ whose function is to match any delay that may occur in the picture relative t o the audio.
TON E CON TRO LS The T 775 has three T one Control levels – Tr eble, Bass and Center Dialog. Bass and Tr eble controls only aect the low bass and high treble leaving the critical midrange frequencies free of coloration.

AN ALOG AUDIO The T 775 has nine analog audio inputs including 7.1 input. T hese analog inputs - Audio 1, Audio 2, Audio 3, A udio 4, Audio 5, Audio 6, Audio F ront, Audio MP and 7.
VI DE O FO RM A T CONV ERS IO N The T 775 is equipped with a Video F or mat Conv er ter . This allows for a simplied video connection between the T 775 and y our T V Monitor when using multiple video formats such as Composite (CVBS), S-Video , and Component ( YUV ).
SO UR CE S ET UP (T A BL E VIE W) The Source Setup ( T able V iew) reects the settings made in the S ource Setup (Normal V ie w) menu. All the Source settings ar e summarized and displayed in tabulated f or m in the Source Setup ( T able View).
AUDYSSE Y MultE Q X T R OOM ACOUS TI CS CO RR EC TIO N Sound reecting from room boundaries can disturb the spatial illusion of surround sound, and can also distort the tonal balance of the system.
SP EA KE R CON FI GU RA T ION Every surround-sound system requires “bass-management” to direct low- frequency content from any or all channels to the speakers best able to reproduce it. F or this function to operate correctly, it is important that you correctly identify your speakers’ capabilities.
The SPL meter should be placed at the primary listening position, at approximately the height of the seated list ener ’ s head. A tripod is helpful but with a little duct tape almost anything — a pole lamp, music-stand, or ladder-backed chair , for example — can do as well.

TR IG GE R S ET UP The T 775 features three congurable +12V DC Trigger Output that can be used to activate a component or system it is fed into . A T rigger I nput is also available to turn on the applicable link it is associated to . Use a combination of or ENTER and k eys to navigate thr ough the T rigger Setup menu parameters.
DO LBY D IGI T AL PLUS Dolby Digital Plus is the next-generation audio technology for all high- denition programming and media. It combines the eciency to meet future broadcast demands with the pow er and exibilit y to realiz e the full audio potential expected in the upcoming high-denition era.
DO LBY S ET UP Under this menu, the Dolby Digital’ s D ynamic Range Control can be adjusted as well as the settings for Dolby Dig ital Pro Log ic II x Music. Dyn Range Ctrl : Y ou can select the eective dynamic range (subjective range from soft to loud) for playback of Dolby Dig ital soundtracks.
DTS N EO: 6™ SUR RO UND This mode applies the conventional 2-channel signals such as digital PCM or analog stereo signals to the high pr ecision digital matrix decoder used for D TS-ES Matr ix 6.
A/V PR ES ETS The T 775’ s simple but power fully exible system of ‘Presets’ allows you to customize virtually ever y aspect of your audio-video playback, and recall them with a single key-press.
LI ST EN IN G TO AM/ FM R AD IO The T 775’ s internal AM/FM tuner oers very high quality sound from radio broadcasts. The reception and sound quality will always be dependent to a degree howev er on the t ype of antenna(s) used as well as pr oximity to the broadcast origin, geography and w eather conditions.
CH OO SIN G THE TU NER MO DE The front-panel ‘ TUNER MODE’ ke y is a dual-purpose control. In the normal position, FM Mute F M Stereo icons on the VFD are illuminated, only the stations with a strong signal can be listened to , and the noise between stations is muted.
VI EW XM I NF OR MA TI ON T oggle ‘INFO ’ button to display the XM information of the selected channel such as the artist name, song title, category or any other text as supplied for the channel.
4 The strength of the incoming sig nal can be shown on the VFD by pressing the [ENTER] button. The more segments visible in the low er display line, the stronger the sig nal. By changing the position of the antenna, you can increase the sig nal strength.
RE SE T The “Reset” option allows the connected (and separately sold) NAD DAB Adaptor DB1 to be r eset to its fac tory default settings. 1 While listening to a D AB broadcast, press front panel’ s [ TUNER MODE] button and then [ TUNE / ] to select “Reset ” .
LI ST EN IN G TO Y O UR iPod P LA YE R The T 775 is equipped with a data por t in the rear panel where an optional “NAD IPD Dock for iP od ” (NAD IPD) can be plugged in.
NA D I PD 2 The NAD IPD 2 has its own remote contr ol - the DR 1. For you to contr ol the NAD IPD 2 using the DR 1, you have to go t o “iP od Setup” menu (please refer to the item about “iP od Setup” under the “USING THE T 775 – SETUP MENU” segment of OPERA TION section) and then set “ Auto Connect ” to “No” .

LE AR NI NG CODE S F ROM OTH ER REM OTE S Begin by positioning the HTR 3 “nose-to-nose” with the source remote so the two devices’ infrared windows are about 2 inches apart.
MAC RO COM MA ND S A “macro ” command is a series of t wo or more r emote codes issued automatically from a single keypress. Y ou might use a macro to automate a simple command sequence , such as, “ Turn on the DVD player and then press PLA Y” .
F AC TORY R ES ET The HTR 3 can be reset to its factory state, deleting all learned commands, copied and punched- through keys, macros, and other setup inf ormation, rever ting all keys to their pre-programmed library commands.
LOADI NG CODE -L IB R ARI ES The HTR 3 can store a di erent librar y of default NAD codes for each of its Device Selector “pages. ” If the original default librar y does not control your NAD CD play er, tape deck, DVD player , or other component, follow the procedur e below to change the code -library.
