14 SETTING THE DATE FORMAT Your pa ger is pr eset t o disp lay the dat e in t he month/ day/y ear (M/D/Y) format, but you can set it to use the D/M/Y format. To change t he date format, f ollow these steps . 1. At the sta ndby display , press then repeat edly press until Set Options appears .

19 Setting t he Alert Length Your page r is pr eset to aler t for about 30 sec onds when you recei ve a mess age or to r e m ind you of an unread message; however, you can set i t to alert for 20 (“ Short” ), 3 2 (“Middl e”), or 44 (“Lon g”) s econds.

22 MEMORY CAPACITY Your pag er c an store up t o 16 messages (or a maxi- mum of 640 chara cters) in its memo ry. If the pa ger’s memor y is full when it rece ives a new m essage, the new mes sage replaces t he old est unpr otecte d m e s- sage in memory.
23 RECEIVING/READING MESSA GES Receiving Me ssages When t he pager receiv es a message , it alerts (b eeps or vibr ates) and displ ays the incomi ng message for up to 4 4 seconds ( depending o n the al ert leng th select ed — see “Set ti ng t he Alert Len gt h ” on Page 1 9).
24 Reading Messages To read all messages store d in memory , repeat edly press or . Eac h time you press a bu t ton, the pag- er dis plays t he next messa ge and the ti me it was re- ceive d (ti me stamp) .

27 Duplicate Me ssages If your page r rece ives a messag e that is the s ame as one al r eady st ored in memor y ( read or u nread), appear s when the pager di splay s the duplic ate mes- sage. Af ter yo u read a dupl icate m essage, the pag er saves onl y one copy of it, showing the most rece nt time t hat the message was recei ve d.
28 PROTECTING AND UNPROTECTING MESSAGES Your pag er let s you pr otect up to ei ght mess ages from being repl aced i f th e memory be comes full . Fol - low t hese s teps t o pr otect or u nprotect messages. 1. Repeate dl y press or to select the message you wan t to pr otect or unprote ct.
29 Note: If *FULL* appears and t he pager beeps t wi ce when you pr ess to protect a message, eight m e s- sages a re current ly pr otected. To protec t anoth er mess age, y ou must fi rst unprote ct or delete ( see “De- let ing Mess ages”) on e of t hose eight.
30 3. Press . Delete flas hes on the disp lay. 4. Press three t imes to delete the messag e. As you pr ess the butt on, t he pager displays Delete (not flashing ), Delete? , then Deleted .
31 Deleting All Messages Cautio n: This proc edure del etes al l message s (pr o- tect ed and unprot ected) stor ed in memory. 1. Turn off the pager . 2. Press and hold and until Delete All? appears . 3. T o delete all message s in memory , press . Deleted All appea rs briefly , then the pager turn s on a nd the standb y dis play appears.
32 SPEC IAL FEA TURES USING THE REMINDER ALERT To re m i nd you of any unread messages, y ou can s et your pager to s ound an al e rt (at i nterval s of 1, 2, 5, 10, then ever y 30 mi nutes) for up to 3 hours or unti l you press a button. Follow these steps to t urn the remin d- er aler t on or off.

35 USING THE DAILY ALARM You can set your pager t o sound an alar m at the same ti me each day. At the se t alar m time, *Alarm* appear s, flashe s, and the page r sounds a silent or audibl e alarm (de pending on the sele cted message aler t t ype) f or a bout 3 0 secon ds.
