- 6 - DESCRIPTION O VERVIEW NetMan 20 4 is a device that allows UPS management through a LAN (Local Area Network); t he accessory supports all the m ain network protocols (SNMP v1 and v3, T CP/IP, HTT P and so on) and is compatible with Et hernet 10/100Mbps IPv4/6 networks.

The LEDs built into the connector describe the status o f the network: • Left LED: SOLID YELLOW: NetM an204 has detected a valid link.
- 8 - Reset button The reset button allow s to restart the NetMan204 or to load a default configuration with a predefined static IP address. To reset NetMan204 : keep press the reset butt on until the red led start flashing (ca. 2 seconds) and then release it.
- 9 - N ETWORK SERVICES NetMan 204 implements a series of services based on the main net work protocols. These services can be activated or deact ivated according to r equirements (see paragraph “Configur ation”). A brief description for each of these is given below.
- 10 - Modbus The UPS status can be monit ored by means of the standard network protocol MODBUS TCP/IP. This service is alw a ys active on the TCP port 502. The supported f unction are listed on section “Modbus TCP/IP protocol”, together with the accessibl e registers.
- 11 - UPS VALUES AND EVENT S HISTORY LOG ARCHIVE NetMan 204 records the UPS values (Datalog) and events (Eventlog) in a hi story log archive. The data are saved to file in text format.
- 12 - E NVIRONMENTAL SENSORS ( OPTIONAL ) Is possibile to connect to NetMan 204 the environmental sensors for monitoring t emperature, humidity and digital input/output. The information pr ovided by these sensors can be showed with the UP S monitoring and contr ol software or with a web br owser (the HTTP service must be ac tive).
- 13 - CONFI GURA TION O VERVIEW NetMan 204 can be configured via USB , via SSH or via HTTPS . NetMan204 comes pro vided as factor y default with DHCP enabled and wit h the f ollowing services active: SSH, HTTP, SNMP , UDP and FT P. In order to change the co nfiguration of NetMan 204 , you have to log in as a dm in (default password “admin”).
- 14 - Configuration via USB To c onf ig u re NetMan 2 04 via USB it is necessary to : • c onnect, with the USB cable provided, the micr o - USB port with the USB port of a PC wit h W indow s operat.

- 35 - SNMPV3 CONFIGURATI ON For configuring SNMPv3 access, is necessary to edit snmp.conf. This file can be downl oaded and uploaded with FTP with user “admin” (default password : “ad min”) .
- 36 - <securityType> is the mi nimum security level that must be used to g ain access to t his access right. - 41 - TECHNICAL DATA N ETWORK CABLE To connect the device to the Ethernet (10Base - T) or Fast Ethernet (100Base - T) network, a UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) or STP (Shielded Twisted Pair) cable with RJ45 connectors is required. The cable must conform to t he standard IEEE 802.
