6 SYMBOLS The following signal words and meanings ar e intended to explain the levels of risk associated with this product. DANGER: Indicates an imminently hazardous situation, which, if not avoided, will result in death or serious injury .
7 ELECTRICAL SPEED AND WIRING The no-load speed of this tool is appr oximately 3,000 sfpm. This speed is not constant and decreases under a load or with lower voltage. For voltage, the wiring in a shop is as important as the motor’ s horsepower rating.

10 FEA TURES SAW BLADE Saw comes with a standard 1/4 in. blade. SAW T ABLE WITH THROA T PLA TE Y our band saw has a saw table with tilt control for maximum accuracy . The thr oat plate, installed in the saw table at the factory , allows for blade clearance.

13 ASSEMBL Y If lag bolts are used, make sure they are long enough to go through holes in the saw base and material the saw is being mounted to. If machine bolts are being used, make sure bolts are long enough to go thr ough holes in the saw base, the material being mounted to, and the lock washers and hex nuts.
14 ASSEMBL Y SQUARING THE SAW T ABLE TO THE BLADE See Figure 8. T ur n the lock knob counterclockwise to unlock the blade guide assembly . T urning the blade guide knob clockw ise, raise the blade guide assembly as far as it will go. T urn the lock knob clockwise to retighten.
15 ASSEMBL Y TRACKING THE BLADE See Figure 10. NOTE: Adjust blade tension properly before making tracking adjustments. Check that the blade guides are not interfering with the blade. T o Adjust: Open the front cover by releasing the upper and lower latches.
16 OPERA TION WARNING: Do not allow familiarity with tools to make you care- less. Remember that a careless fraction of a second is sufficient to inflict serious injury . WARNING: Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields when operating power tools.
17 OPERA TION SCROLL CUTTING For general type scroll cutting, follow the patter n lines by pushing and turning the workpiece at the same time. Do not try to turn the workpiece while engaged in the blade without pushing it – the workpiece could bind or twist the blade.
18 OPERA TION TIL TING THE T ABLE See Figure 13. Loosen the table lock knob slightly . T u rn the a ngle a djustme nt kno b, tilt ing th e saw table toward the fr ont of the saw housing until it reaches the desired angle. Using the scale indicator , check angle markings.
19 ADJUSTMENTS WARNING: Before performing any adjustment, make sure the tool is unplugged fr om the power supply . Failure to heed this warning could result in serious personal injury . INST ALLING AND ADJUSTING THE BLADE See Figures 16 and 17. Loosen and remove the wing nut and table aligning bolt from the saw table.
20 ADJUSTMENTS Fig. 19 ADJUSTING BLADE GUIDE ASSEMBL Y See Figures 18 and 19. T o prevent the blade from twisting or breaking, the blade guide assembly should always be set approximately 1/8 in. (3 mm) above the workpiece. T ur n the lock knob counterclockwise to unlock the blade guide assembly .
21 ADJUSTMENTS ADJ USTI NG BLAD E GUIDE SUPPOR T , THRUS T BEARINGS, AND BLADE GUIDE BEARINGS See Figures 20 - 22. NOTE: Tighten the lock knob and r efer to “Adjusting Blade T ension” and “T racking the Blade” procedures explained in the ASSEMBL Y section of this operator’ s manual prior to making adjustments.
22 MAINTENANCE ADJUSTMENTS T o Adjust Blade Guide Bearings: The blade guide bearings help keep the blade fr om twisting and binding. The blade can be ruined if the blade teeth hit the bearings while using the band saw . Remove the blade guard by loosening the two phillips screws.

24 TROUBLESHOOTING PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION Motor will not run. 1. Problem with on/of f switch or 1. Have worn parts replaced before power cord. using band saw again. 2. Motor defective. 2. Do not attempt any repair . Have tool repair ed by a qualified service technician.
