1 Using the Organizer for the First T ime Be sure to perform the f ollowing operations bef ore using the Organizer f or the first time . 1. Pull out the battery insulation sheets from the batter y compar tment. The Organizer starts operation. (The batter y insulation sheets were inser ted at the factory to prev ent batter y w ear .
2 Auto Shut Off Function When none of the ke ys has been pressed for appro ximately 7 minutes (initial setting), the Organizer automatically turns the pow er off to sav e the batteries. Setting the A uto Shut Off time (Def ault: 7 minutes) 1. If the displa y is in another mode or World Cloc k mode, press h to enter the Home Cloc k mode.

6 a h Built-in Calendar and Clock Precautions • Calendar , Schedule, Expense, and Cloc k modes allow you to enter the desired date and time between J an. 1, 1950 and Dec. 31, 2150. • If an attempt is made to store an in valid time or date, y ou will not be able to mo ve the cursor to date entering, or store the time and date by pressing x .

8 c Alarm The organizer has the f ollowing three Alarm modes. Once you set an alar m, a beep sounds f or 1 minute at the set time ev er y da y or f or a specific date .
9 Switching the alarm OFF (or ON) 1. If the displa y is in another mode or World Clock mode , press h to enter the Home Clock mode . 2. Press A to enter the Alar m Mode. Alar m 1 mode will appear . 3. Select an Alarm mode from 1 to 3 using < or > , if required.

24 Secret Function The secret function allows y ou to protect confidential listings with a Secret Number , so that no unauthor ized person can reach them. Y ou can use up to a 4-digit number as a Secret Number . Registering a Secret Number (Password) As a saf eguard, make a wr itten record of the pass word.

26 Before Y ou Begin Connecting Y our Organizer to a PC 1. T ur n off your PC and the Organizer . 2. Connect the standard 9-pin connector of the PC interf ace cable to a COM por t on your PC . • Using a 25-pin connector instead of the standard 9-pin connector requires an additional adaptor .
27 Getting Started Known Incompatibilities • While you are bac king up or restoring data, a transf er error may occur with cer tain 3D screen sav er utility programs enabled. Bef ore transf erring data, disable any 3D screen sa ver utility prog rams you ma y be r unning.
