16 St ep 2: Install the Dash or V ent Mount Depending on your sit uation, you c an either choose t o use the Dash Mount or the V ent Mount. IMPORTANT! When you ins tall the chos en mount, do not att ach the dock to the mount. All cable s should be attached t o the dock prior to c onnecting the dock to the mount.
17 3 The dock mounting plat e can be tilt ed in diff er ent directions . Adjust as neces sary for y our particular vehicle. W hen the orientation is c orrect , tighten the knob . 4 Clean the surf ace with the alc ohol prep ar ation pad and let it dry thoroughly .
18 Installing the Vent Mount: 1 Locat e a vent with horiz ontal louver s stur dy enough to hold your Power Connect V ehicle Dock and Radio. 2 If the vent louv ers in y our vehicle are rec ess ed, you ma y need to us e the longer vent clamps with the V ent Mount.
19 4 Res t the foot agains t the bott om of the v ent (2), and adjust the tilt of the V ent Mount by r epositioning the foot t o a diff erent adjus tment hole (3). T o remo ve the V ent Mount, push the mount int o the vent . Then lift up until disengaged fr om the rear o f the ven t louver , and remov e the V ent Mount.
20 St ep 3: Mount the Magnetic Mount Ant enna Mount the Magnetic Mount Ant enna on the outside of y our vehicle, on a horizont al surf ace that will alw ays f ace the sk y . The antenna c ontains a s trong magnet which will stick t o any met al part of y our vehicle, but will not damage the vehicle .
