16 - First things f irst If you need to power down the computer for a short while, but don’t want to completely shut it down, you can put it into Hibernate by pressing the power button. Note : If you cannot power off the computer normally, press and hold the power button for more than four seconds to shut down the computer.

26 - Using the virtual keyboar d U SING THE VIRTUAL KEYBOARD Microsoft Windows provides a convenient virtual keyboard for entering data. There are several ways to display the keyboard: Tap inside any text field to display the Windows virtual keyboard.

28 - Wireless networks W IRELESS NETWORKS Connecting to the Internet Your computer's wireless connection is turned on by default. Windows will detect and display a list of available networks during setup. Select your network and enter the password if required.

30 - Screen or ientation and G-sensor S CREEN ORIENTATION AND G- SENSOR Your computer has a built-in accelerometer that d etects the tablet’s orientation and automatically rotates the screen to suit the orientation. You can lock the screen orientation by using the lock switch.
Power manageme nt - 31 P OWER MANAGEMENT This computer has a built-in power management unit that monitors system activity. System activity refers to any activity involving one or more of the following devices: keyboard, mouse, hard disk, peripherals c onnected to the computer, and video memory.

Battery p ack characteri stics The battery is recharged whenever you connect the computer to the AC adapter. Your computer supports charge-in-use, enabling you to recharge the battery while you continue to operate the computer.

36 - Battery pack • Frequent use; the more you use the battery , the faster it will reach the end of its eff ective life. A standard computer battery has a life span of about 300 charges.

Recovery - 55 Make sure Copy contents from the reco very partition to the recovery drive is selected. This provides the most complete and safest recovery backup. 3. Plug in the USB drive then click Next . • Make sure your USB drive has enough capacity before continuing.
