VII. W ARNINGS: COMPONENTS & OPTIONS Note: If y ou use parts or mak e changes not authorized by Sunrise it may create a safety hazard and will v oid the W arranty . A. ARMRESTS Armrests flip back and cannot be used to lift chair or the seat. 1. Never lift this chair by its armr ests.

Be aware that th e chair will not have brakes wh en motor locks are in th e free-wheel positi on. 3. Mak e sure that the person pushing th e chair has full control wh en motor locks are disengag ed.
K. UPHOLSTERY FABRIC 1. Replace worn or torn f abric of the seat as soon as you can. If you f ail to do so, the seat may f ail and cause you to fall. W orn fabrics m ay increase the poten tial for a fir e hazard . 2. Fabric will d eteriorate with age an d use.

They contain a finite amoun t of ener gy and have limits on how lon g they can store and supply en ergy . • Y ou can charge batteries only a certain n umber of times bef ore they will fail an d no lon g er hold a charge .
930756 Rev . B C. ACID BURNS (UNSEALED WET CELL BA TTERIES) Aci d in batteries is corrosive . If you choose to use wet cell batteries , they can cause serious burns to th e eyes and skin and can dam age floors, furnitur e, clothing an d your wheelchair .
E. CHARGING B A TTERIES T o avoid the risk of se vere injury or death fr om electrical shock, fire or explosion while charging: 1. Ne ve r conn ect char ger to a 240 volt source . The main input voltag e is 110 volts. 2. Nev er touch the charg er after it is connected to an electrical outlet.
930756 Rev . B XII. MAINTENANCE A. NOTES 1. Proper m aintenance will impr ove performan ce and extend th e useful life of your chair . 2. Clean your chair regularly . This will help you fin d loose or worn parts and will make your chair easier to use .
3. Corrosion: Check battery termin als often for corrosi on. a. If corr osi on is present, use a wire brush to clean th e terminals. NOTE– Always wear safety glasses and rubber gloves. b . Use baking sod a to neutralize aci d. c. Use petroleum jelly to re-gr ease the terminals after conn ecting cables to battery .
