4 Speak er Placement The low fr equency capability of the CSUB allows gr eat flexibility in its placement. While full-range speak ers will typically be installed thr oughout the ceiling in an evenl y spread pattern, the CSUB can be placed where ver it is most con venient.
5 IMPOR T ANT There m ust be a minimum of 11 " of v er tical clearance ( 1 2- 1 /4" if using the CK 1 0 Safety Cable Kit) betw een the fr ont of the mounting surface and any other structure in the ceiling f or the speak er to fit.
6 Installation (cont.) SUSPENDED CEILINGS: 1 . Remov e the ceiling tile fr om the ceiling grid. Cut a 1 4- 1 /4" circular hole in the ceil- ing tile. Use the included template as a guide. 2. Put the CSUB face down on a w orkbench or on the floor without grille installed .
7 Installation (cont.) DR YW ALL OR O THER HARD SURF A CES: 1 Be sure y ou know the location of the ceiling joists before cutting the speak er open- ing. Cut a 1 4- 1 /4" cir cular hole where the CSUB will be installed. Use the includ- ed template as a guide.
8 Speak er Wiring All wiring should be done prior to installation and then plugged into the rear of the speak er . Wiring is terminated at a snap-lock input connector . There are tw o positive and two negativ e terminals to accommodate daisy-chaining of speak ers in a sys- tem.
9 Selecting P o wer Le v els The front-mounted selector s witch is used to set the appr opriate power lev el or impedance for your system. Using your f ingers or a flat-blade scre wdriver , turn the knob until the arr ow points to the power le vel you requir e .
